Since I have not seen any other claim this invention I claim it now....
My new invention is The Armored Supersucker 2000 (tm), it is a Apoc filled with up to 8x tractorbeams in High Medslot... whatever you feel needed, but something to make your ship go fast is needed here. Lowslot.... Cargo-expanders and WCS...
We had a fieldtest of it today and I looted faster than my corpmate could kill something.

Totally just use an Exequror to do it, better yet use two, save yourself 94,000,000 ISK and have quadruple the cargospace. ________________________________________________

Say what you want, it does actually work very well, oh and my former lootship was a nifty MK 4 filled to fly at around 700 m/s and was faster to loot with without the tractorbeams...
But that Apoc really did loot well in some missions... one thing that irritated me was that in my mk 4 you could only target 2 containers and use only 1 tractorbeam, in my apoc (I can target 6-8 targets use just as many tractorbeams if not more... and on ranges around 100 km) it is superb.

that is true... what I mean is, in missions where you leave containers close but like in a belt or something at around 50-100 km you can loot much more efficiently than if you where flying to every single contianer looting it.
I have had missions where I have had a belt of containers at around 180 km and I don't think I would use this one there.. then a mk 4 at 700 m/s is faster to loot with. ---------------------------------------------- "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things." 1 cor. |

I use an Omen as my loot ship. But if they ever come out with a Large Tractor Beam, you can bet I'll be flying a Lootageddon instead.

How many people can actually lock 8 containers at the same time?

Actually you win the prize for the apoc but that doesn't mean you won the uber collector prize.
I currently employ a lootageddon to do my looting in. LOOTAGEDDON HIGH: 8 x tractor beams MED: 100 t2 mwd, 100 t2 afterburner and a sensor booster. LOW: 3 Nanofiber internals, 2 cpr's, 3 Cargo expanders.
This setup can tractor anything in very fast and very efficiently. The mwd is very nice for use when u just wanna get to that can that's 50k's away in a few seconds. Also comes in handy if you wanna bump any other looters out of the way.
So in conclusion even though you have the apoc the geddon makes a much better looter due to it's 1 extra low slot.

The lootageddon is a superb ship but the main problem with it still for me is that even with 2 nanofibers its still very unagile.
For high slots you can't beat the lootageddon setup for but has anybody any good non bs setups? Ferox as looter?

Execuror with 5 tracts, or a sigil with 2 do fairly well.
This should have been in the ships and modules section BTW.

I think a mothership like a Nyx would make a better looter caus it has more cargo space, right? ------ Originally by: Gazon In any case, the whole affair had one lasting effect: Awarding Stormriders the label of ridiculous drug addicts with a tendency towards utterly foolish actions.

my 10mnMWDII fitted Exequror is way faster. Also you can fit it with beta expanders, then put Huge Secure container to get more than 2k m3 of looting space.

Whoa, a new fad!
First we had the mining Apoc, and now the Lootageddon.
I mean, from a Minmatar point of view I totally endorse this use of two fine ships.
Hmm, smaller than a battleship, fast, good cargo and enough high slots for multiple tractor beams?
I guess destroyers don't have the CPU and CAP to field more than three or four, especially with a combined AB/MWD med slot fitting.
Or maybe they do:
Trasher: HIGH-SLOTS : ~~~~~~~~~~~~ > [ 7 | 20] Super Tractor Beam I > [ 7 | 20] Super Tractor Beam I > [ 7 | 20] Super Tractor Beam I > [ 7 | 20] Super Tractor Beam I > [ 7 | 20] Super Tractor Beam I > [ 7 | 20] Super Tractor Beam I > [ 13 | 13] 280mm Howitzer Artillery II > [ 1 | 30] Prototype Cloaking Device I
MED-SLOTS : ~~~~~~~~~~~ > [ 17 | 25] 1MN MicroWarpdrive II > [ 11 | 15] 1MN Afterburner II > [ 1 | 8] F-90 Positional Sensor Subroutines
LOW-SLOTS : ~~~~~~~~~~~ > [ 0 | 0] Expanded Cargohold I > [ 0 | 0] Expanded Cargohold I
This leaves 2.5 PG and 0.9 CPU mostly due to the gratuituos cloaking device, hehe, 10M modules on 1M ships for the win! Max locked targets 6 unfortunately, but around 600 m¦ cargo (with secure cans) could be good enough for most missions.
The Arty is in there to pop uninteresting loot.

Edit: Oh, unfortunately there's some serious locking range issue with destroyers. Maybe upgrade that to an Interdictor. Finally found a use for them in Empire, eh?
Well, the real issue is - If you can use an Amarr BS, then you are a few mins away from using a sigil, which when combined with all nanos in lows, and a AB + shield booster/extenders in mids, and tractors in the highs, makes it the best looter ingame. Turns like a frig, and hits 1kms with skills. Also carries roughly 3,500m3 if you have skills
If the issue is armour, then a T2 Sigil (probetor or however its spelled) does the job even better, and still has the built in +2 Warp Strength and almost 2k Armour without skills. Quite why would anyone want a lootageddon, which moves at a snails pace and is not viable in lowsec/0.0 is beyond me --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |
