I have tried three times the last stage, managed to get out but that was about it. Lots of cruisers (Kurzon Legionaire) and battleships (Kurzon Destroyer) aggro you all at once and then my shield just vanished.
I have tried a super-tanked scorpion, three EM and two thermal, still same thing. So my questions would be:
1) do you know what damage the kurzon guys do? (btw, do you know any site with npc damage/resistances?)
2) how can you do it? twenty ships shooting you all at once. How? take a fast ship first? won't that get insta-popped? if not that, then how?

Clicked on Kurzon Destroyer..
DPS: 153hp/s (EM: 0hp/s, Expl: 33hp/s, Kin: 24hp/s, Therm: 96hp/s)
Missile Damage: EM: 0hp, Expl: 180hp, Kin: 0hp, Therm: 0hp
Which means you hardened against a damage type you weren't encountering and left kinetic wide open.
I couldn't find the legionare in the list; perhaps it was named slightly different?
Compare the two and then choose hardeners. If the legion dude is slinging EM damage, then go for invulnerability fields II with perhaps a single EM specific hardener.

Thanks a lot for the link! Yes, I presumed it would do em and th, and it was doing lots of explosive too and kin...
As for the cruiser, it is Legionnaire:
[ 2006.04.17 21:04:16 ] (combat) <color=0xffbb6600>Kurzon Legionnaire places an excellent hit on you, inflicting 15.9 damage.

I couldn't find the Legionnaire on the list but the site is a real help for any mission runner, recycler and/or miner.

- in a mission if you see on scaner - you can see real name for npc-s (like a Guristas Destroyer etc.), not a second name (like Kurzon Legionare etc.)
- second way to see real name is wallet, when you take a bounty you see in wallet real name
