It's got smooth pixels and jagged gameplay.
Just another grinder.

I play it its ok as a break from eve i play eve 4 days a week and rf 3 its another grind game but PvE isant the main goal in this game so getting a good level is not too hard if you aproach it right the main aim of this game is to join in the chip wars.
Basically a chip war is played in a special map where you can mine ore for cash and in the centre of this map is a special zone where the profits go up like 500% percent and the mobs are very good. This are is guarded by a super indestructable monster. every 8 hours all 3 factions fight for access rights to the monsters lair but attacking the oposing factions chip controller whoever has a chip left gains controll.
So in theory there is a lot of cooperative PvP in this game.
But in reality most people ignor any orders and do ther own thing alos ther are a lot of bots in game and lots of Kill stealing.
Its a nice looking game with some nice scenery but eve is still the best in my opinion.

Speaking from second hand reviews and write ups...
Sounds like the game has potential beyond lvl 20. Alot of references point at a leened down version of WoW with better graphics. (leened down WoW. Is that even possible!?!?)
Quests generally consist of "Kill x rats for 20% chance to loot 1 of 10 items to complete quest." The grind is A-Typical.
What I've seen from the graphics engine looks VERY nice. I ahve not expeiranced the game yet so I'm unable to give more detailed accounts.
I'm thinking about picking up "Auto-Assault". I'm currently experiancing an extended trial for DDO which seems to fill in the gaps of EVE's game play quite well.
DDO is good for a "casual" gamer who's able to get into an active and mature guild. If you were to play "Dungeon & Dragons Online" for 4-8 hours a week you may enjoy it. The quests have been scripted very well and possesses some good pathing. The AI is "ok" and the graphics look good.
Hmm...is there a DDO thread already in progress?

grinding your force pt is a pain in the ass, even with the nostromo macro to switch your intense staff for the +500% sp regen between casts, couldv'e bought potions I guess. The lame part is you pretty much have to afk mine in the game, that's not very enviornmentally thinking.

Ineed RF grahpics are nice but every single quest is just round the next corner or down the path of a new higher lvl npc.
I played throughout BETA hoping for something more but its all the same. Seriosuly WoW is better on everything over RF
DDO i tried but during BETA the lagg was crazy going into the tavens. I did find the coumminity very friendly and helpfull which was nice. Tempted to try out again
Auto Assault Not tried but looks fun. Reminds me of carmegeddon which i loved playing. Any one play it let me know :)

Looks very nice but thats about it. Its just a constant grind. No depth to it whatsoever. I can think of a better use of ú10 a month, another eve account for instance

Insane grind game, oh and auto assault is just as bad, but it has you driving cars.

What's really sad is that with a bit more TLC and imagination, both the game and the backstory really could have been excellent. The devs just cashed in on the Lineage craze in Korea, though. RFO really shouldn't have made it across the pond. ---

Edited by: FFGR on 18/04/2006 23:35:12 Anyone remembers or has played Lineage II ?
Replace models, change theme and you have RF Online.
I was REALLY not happy with the game, I had to download it with my punny lil 384k line and payed 45euro for the account. I REALLY didn't enjoyed it, I just threw cash out of the window.
Just like Lineage it is GRINGGRINDGRIND!
If I was alone, at the middle of the ocean, and with the ability to play WoW with retards and people that don't know to read/type and RF Online, I would choose WoW.
It is just another rip-off of LineAge, one of the many that are popping out at the market.
Edit : Cancelled and uninstalled the game 5 hours after first login. _____________________________
