I just realised this should be in a dif forum but meh, cba to copy it over.
Introduce Unique modules, like perhaps the Scifi game cliche of ancient superweapons.
Would have very low fitting reqs, take a bucket load of skills that could only come from deadspace/cosmos areas, and only seed perhaps 5 or 6 in the whole universe. When a ship carrying them died they would always survive, the only way to destroy them would be to nuke the can it was in.
Super cool Effects that aren't like anything ingame already, maybe has to warm up and perhaps scores a insant kill on anything it touches. Alliances could fight over em and stuff, and if you combined all of them on one ship you got ubah bonus's and totally pizzowed everything in sight
Bah I'm just rambling here ---------------------------------

I'd like race-specific mods like minmatar plug-ins for minmatar ships, adds extra bonuses to speed, gunnery and perhaps extra gun/missile placements

Unique modules really don't fit in with the environment of EVE, especially as it is so easy to lose something unique. They make more sense in a game like WoW or E&B where you can't lose equipped items.

DS, you would only have maybe 5 or 6 of them in the whole universe...that is really not many.
I think if you could like get all of them together they could act as a key to a super uber area where you could get real cool rewards and stuff

That's a horrible idea!

In principle i like this idea to solve the destroy the ship destoy the uberitem why not make it so that it always survives in a can to be picked up by the deserving Victor.

Ah, aren't almost-unique items, such as luxury liners, navy issue ships, and uber modules usually relegated to flying within the owner's hangar?
More of a collectionner's item IMHO.

Your right, whoever got them would prolly just hoard them. Probly have to make some way of stopping people not using em....perhaps make them not allowing them to be kept in a station due to freaky radiation from its componants or something? ---------------------------------

dont officer mods really fit into this category? not nearly as rare as to never be able to get them again, but still amazingly powerful.

lets face it they would end up as property of bob or just left in a station forever as you would be scared to lose it as every pvp'er once they found out you owned it would pounce.......nice idea but unique items are already in game in the guise of officer mods and although a lot of bods dont get to where ever these are you can still aquire them if you have the isk

Wouldn't it promote PvP - isn't that a good thing?? Doesn't matter what the mods are or do, as long as they're sought after it could add new elements to the PvP side of things. Make who ever equips them or carries them show up on the map when they were in space so you could always hunt em down. Or maybe make them illegal in stations so they can only be kept in a POS when not in use and place that POS on the map...
Could be done well - give corp wide benefits for corp holding the mod - or screw the mod and make it a small POS structure...
You don't see any good idea's here?

I think if it couldn't be kept in a station, illegal or dangerous to the station or something, but it gave corp wide bonus's like perhaps +10% Damage to all corp members...or something...probly hard to impliment. ---------------------------------

For extra speed you need ripp offs, not plugins and for gun placements some double sided tape should do the trick.

Nah, not a I win button, needs time to recharge and is excruitatingly rare. Maybe each shot needs 90% cap and drains the entire thing in one shot. ---------------------------------

This is actually a cool idea.
Although, as mentioned, something would have to be built-in so that if not used or if they try and hoard it, it will warp itself to its origin (the end of some uber plex) or something weird and spacey. Or it warps itself automatically after time.
I think it could be a fun idea once the mechanics have been worked out and a bit of story added!
Sort of like a EVE capture the flag : , just with more explosions...

So let me try to sum it up. Is it basically a Corp spends 3 months building Archeology Tools and/or Hacking tools and so forth. Advanced stuff,Points them at Unique Anomalies(Ill take the EVE gate for instance) and fire them up.And form that you get a one of a kind nigh indestructable Item which is unlike anything we already have but has huge benefits and draw backs. Its then fought over like a game of Capture the flag or Cavern Mods from Planetside(They give benefits to the owners accross the continents)
Example:
You have a corp deploy some special energy devices in New Eden. Have them powered by Ice and then turn on a specific number so they mess with the EVE gate. Its spits out a bit of the origional gate or ship which was caught inside when it collapsed,Then using the new Salvage Profession which'll be added in at some point you get "The Ark" Cap Recharger. When attached its basically a Super Charge Cap Recharger but it can be activated to basically turn into the most powerful Nos in the game,Sucking Cap for 1 minute from all ships in the Grid its on(Friendlies included)or at least in a large Area.
The item is just some random idea that popped into my head so ignore it. The main thing,If I understand mirel right is that these items after a Huge amount of effort and training would,If not a massive change on the game then at least have something for people to try and acquire.Of course the problum then is once someone has it,It'll never see the light of day again but well its still a cool idea. _______________________________________________ An tT nach bhfuil lßidir nf folßir d= bheith glic -He who is not strong must be crafty |

Make it so the person who had it would have to semi-constantly defend it. Couldn't just be kept in a station and **********d over Golem style like the Opus yacht (Voogru I'm looking at you here)

"Due to instabilities in your ships energy signature,You are unable to dock while "The Ark" is equiped on your ship"
Make them log off at a POS or In space when it's equiped. Make 'em take it on or off at a Ship Maintenance Array. _______________________________________________ An tT nach bhfuil lßidir nf folßir d= bheith glic -He who is not strong must be crafty |
