Then it depends. If the enemy ship is pinned (scrammed, webbed) then going for the gallente drones make sense. If not, minmatar drones are faster and have more tracking. |

Unless they have a big thermal resist (T2 Caldari), go for gallente. 1/2/2 Vexor, 3/2/0 Algos. |

2 large, 2 med, 1 small. Pick drones based on opponent resist hole.
Rule of Thumb:
Gallente (thermal) > Amarr (EM) > Caldari (Kin) > Minmatar (Exp) > Gallente (thermal)
Use Thermal (Gallente drones) to hit Amarr T2
Use EM (Amarr drones) to hit Caldari T2
Use Kinetic (Caldari drones) to hit Minmatar T2
Use Explosive (Minmatar drones) to hit Gallente T2

1. There were no damage multipliers in drones
2. You could ferry all four types in your drone bay. |

1. Nah it's pretty much true all the time.
Gallente drones have highest DPS and Amarr T2 resist hole is Thermal. Check
Caldari T2 baseline resist on EM is 0, and Explosive is 50% (shield). Caldari T2 tanks Kin/Therm. Check
Caldari drones have second highest dps and Minmatar T2 tanks EM/Therm with resist hole is Kin. Check
Gallente T2 baseline resist on explosive is 10%, EM resist is 50%. Tanks kin/therm. Therefore Minmatar. Check.
2. Mobile Depots ftw. :D Plus I also stated that Gal/Min is a good default combo.
3. BTW, baseline dps for a single T2 Hob/Hornets/Warriors/Acolytes are 20/18/16/14 respectively. |

You don't know what the heck you are talking about. EM drones are great drone to have in your drone bay to break the lock of a frigate so you can warp off or sic on a logi who's reps you can't break. I'm not saying going into a pvp fight I'd use them instead of sentries or lights, but if I have spare drone bay I always pack a flight of ecms.

Electronic Warfare Drones on the other hand are a must have on anything even remotely PvP related having a Dronebay larger than 25m-¦ or no use for drones whatsoever.

For ganking miners in exhumers, Amarr drones are optimal in most circumstances.

Really comes down to specific circumstances. Overall, gallante drones for the damage and Minnie drones for speed in pvp.
But, the numbers really really depend a lot on enemy speed and resistances. Sure gallante have the highest damage, but if the enemy has 91% resist to thermal and 0% to EM then Amarr drone a will be better. Additionally, speed is a huge factor for those fast boys. Drones are 0 DPS if they can't catch up.
So, best drones to use doesn't exist. |
