I don't know how this game works but I've played a few MMO's and theres always people that know way more and considering I havent even heard of this game untill a few hours ago you can imagine I don't know a whole lot. The game looks really cool, hoping to find someone who can walk me through things and help me out. Just get on Vent and talk about the game a little. I live in Italy but I'm American, the time difference for the East Coast is 6 hours. Thanks! |

First things first, do the tutorial and all 5 career funnel mission arcs. Those will give an adequate introduction to the basic mechanics of the game as well as show you a few of the fundemental activities that people engage in. Once you have done that, then it would be time to have a sit-down with someone, as your experiences in the tutorial missions will give you a base to work off of as opposed to starting blind. |

While above advice is totally valid I never did all tutorials not arcs and I do pretty well. All you really need is ability to read and understanding that failure is mandatory to succeed.
I don't say you shouldn't do tutorials but they are not the only way into awesome world of this terrible game :) I am not my skills but... http://eveboard.com/pilot/Schmata_Bastanold |

as has already been implied, this game requires a lot of research and the learning curve is quite steep. You should run the tutorials to learn the very basics, then start reading up on whatever you decide to try first.
if you have any concrete questions, this forum is probably the right place to ask, as is the rookie channel ingame.

After Tutorial and Carreer Agents are done, many new citizens ask what to do in EvE.
Look here to find out what to do: What to do in EvE Online Click on the boxes there to get more Information.
You've had earned skill books from the Carreer Agents and Aura (the Tutorial Agent). But these are not enough skill books, you need more. It's a good idea to spent part of the money you earned in tutorials for additional skill books. Buy them at the Station where you've done the Carrer Agents.
To get an idea, what to skill see Tippies Skill Plan for Newbies

What do you want to do?
PVP? If so, what engagement sale?
Mining? Industry? Mission running? Research? Planetary management?
I am a care bear in EVERY game I play. Except EVE.
Overall, if you want missions, mining, or small scale pvp in super dangerous space, get in touch. |

Welcome to EVE, never trust anyone! Except me, of course. Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory.-áAll miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code.-áMining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community.
