Well, this thread might be a bit...late, but I'm pretty excited about the new Hawk. I am extremely pleased with the upcoming changes.(I also bought two before the price skyrockets) 
In summation: good job CCP for listening.

I'm eager to take it for a spin as well...
... It'll prolly be overpowered to be honest, or at the very least we'll see a dozen threads about it being overpowered. Regardless, I think it was pretty unacceptable that, until this change, there was absolutely no AF-class vessel for missile users. After all, missiles are an entire skilltree... At the very least they deserve a single dedicated vessel in every ship class.

If my math is right it will do about 100dps with thorn rockets, and with a gist shield booster regen about 36 shields/second, which is pretty neat.
It will probably be fun but it's still an AF.. =(

Well, as bad as market prices are now for most thing's this is just another to add to the growing list..... if you haven't noticed, hawk has sky rocketed since it's annoucement and will probably be over 40 mil before said and done.... it's gonna be the cerberus of AF.

I've seen the sticky about the changes to the Hawk and other things, but it doesn't mention a time that these changes will be put into effect. So... when will the Hawk get its change?

If I had to guess, there will probably be a smaller patch before Kali hits. The changes will most likely be on board for that. (This is all just guesses though)

It should be a pretty sweet ride. An AF that can hit really freaking hard 0-40K and can avoid the NOS attack. This ship will pwn ALL!!!

If it only does 100dps, then its not too bad... i can do the same in a Harpy... >_> but something tells me that it might do a bit more than that...

From what I've read, the Hawk will basically have the same bonuses as a Crow + Sheild Boost bonus.
10% Kinetic missile/lvl.
Rocket Launcher with my skills (max + rocket spec IV) = ~2.14sec rate of fire on rocket launcher II.
Damage per thorn rocket = 51.5625
51.5625 / 2.14 ^ 4 = about 96dps with NO ballistic controls.
I think the most you can fit on a hawk is 1 ballistic control II if you want a decent setup, so that's probably a little over 100dps.. too lazy to do the math.

If they change it as planned I don't think any frig in the game will stand a chance against a rocket hawk.
I bought a dozen before the price went up.

Maybe the price went up because you purchased 12 of them? (along with half of eve).
It was probably smart but umm market inflation might have been caused bye people purchased crazy amounts of the ship rather then on the ships merits. That being said, if i didn't allready own 2 of them i would have purchased a bunch as well.

paid 8mil for mine.
it might have shinier tanking, but it will still do less DPS than a kestrel (for me at least - and anyone without AF 5)

I think some of the excitement has died down tbh. I saw them on market last night for 17m+, but about 2 weeks ago they were up at 22m+. I bought a few for 11m each and I'm looking forward to having a little play with it for a bit of a change, but not that excited about it until we actually see the change.

i get my Hawks for 5 mill which is a little bit over Baseprice
