After seeing the general quality of the written advertisements here, I have decided to offer my services. For the low fee of 100k ISK I will proofread any advertisement you send me, suggest changes, or correct spelling/grammar.
Having a well-written ad is proven to draw in more attention, as potential buyers don't have to expend extra effort on understand what you are saying. If you struggle with the English language due to poor written skills or not being a native speaker, let me help you.
For any questions, please contact me ingame. I reserve the right to adjust the fee based on advertisement length. I only accept English documents for proofreading. I am willing to accept longer documents such as Corporate mails or forums posts, and read over them to make suggestions before you send them out/post them.

If you intend to offer proof-reading services I suggest you learn how to proof-read your own work before asking for money from others to read theirs.
For instance:
"expend extra effort on understand what you"
The proper grammar here would be understanding. 'On understand' is a grammatical error so how about you learn how to proofread first m8.
It's like me soliciting my awesome graphic skills and then churning out signatures in MS Paint. I don't claim to have the skill so I do not solicit it.

Hm, seems its a bad idea to write such a post at 3AM with no sleep. Nonetheless, You did catch my error and I'm grateful. However that was simply a typographical omission, not a grammatical error.
In any case, I'm willing to send you the money as you did catch it. And the service is still open, anyone interested contact me ingame or post here and I will contact you.

Edited by: Big Don on 19/04/2006 12:29:08 Hmmm, I can still spot some errors in the above text.
- "Hm, seems its" - This should be "Hm, seems it's", this is because it's is a shortened version of "it is"
- "at 3AM with no sleep" - There should be a comma after the 3AM, as a speaker would take a breath there
- "Nonetheless, You did catch my error and I'm grateful"- Here, the "You" should not be capitalised, and a comma should be placed after "error", because again, a speaker would take a breath
The rest of the text has places where there should be commas, again because of a breath, but there are none.
100k isk please

Alright, alright. This was mostly a joke anyway on the sad state of some forum posts, and now I know better than to post something slightly amusing for fear of it being overanalyzed and destroyed in seconds.
I never claimed to have a degree in English.

Forumite I'm not after the 100k.
Don't get me wrong, I for one am a big fan of properly constructed posts. It makes it much easier to absorb the info.
But, and this is a huge but, I'm thrilled that everyone in the game uses (even if they struggle with it) English on these forums. I'm glad I'm not procluded from certain auctions due to them being written in German or any other language with which I am unfamiliar but they may excel in.

I'm thrilled with it too, which is why I'm offering to help out those who struggle with it.
