Hi. I'm a member of a known wormhole alliance.
I'm run my own corp, inside the alliance. I've got a few people that want to merge inside the current space we are in, however we want to give them their own POS and have them unlinked from the ability to control our POS.
Currently, this is not possible without giving them director rights to manage their POS (or dancing around with some seriously touchy roles of config starbase equipment ect. ect.), including unanchoring, anchoring, onlining and offlining. I would like to see the ability to assign rolsesets per POS.
Make creatable roles, that you can assign to a specific POS. Something you can then go into the POS manage tab, and click. THat allows people with that specific created role, complete control over that tower as if they had full rights.
If this has been mentioned feel free to delete, but I didn't see it in my brief overview of the topics. |

EXACTLY !!!
I do have the same issue. Pos rights and roles.
First i would like to be able to rename tabs in corp hangars.
Because we have 3 corp hangars, and every single one of them is named like the other with the same tabs. It gets frustratingly confusing when a members tells you he put some Helium in the corp hangar ?? Wich one ??
So.. renaming of - corphangar and tabs -ship maint array ( members never know wich one to use)
Roles.
If you have 2 shipmaint arrays. And you want to Have one use by anyone in the corp and the second only by Officers. Thats just for security new members get their own space. And the more expensive stuff gets sored in the second one. You can Do that only from the pos tower. and set the nasty role ( config starbase ) Thats Great !! now all of the officers can take down my pos.
What i would like to see is. Structures would have Individual access roles. and could be placed in to a group . IE GRoup name NEW MEMBERS. Access to ship maint array ONE Deny Access to Ship main array TWO.

The entire corp role managment needs to be blown up and rebuilt fromt he ground up. My corp has multiple pos spread across eve and its a nightmare protecting member and corp assets. Its a a very tedious balance between access to corp members and preventing theft its insane! At some point you just set it all up and cross your fingers that it works.
EDIT: Another major problem this would fix is allowing indy pilots access to production pos and able to sustain them without getting access to key defence pos. Will prevent spies coming ina nd tearing everything down and keeping new indy pilots from breaking your stuff. |

Exactly, however it seems that there is no plans to do **** about it.
We really really need this stuff brought up more often. CCP really needs to fix POS role management. |

Indeed, well i almost broke sweat, in fear of some flames about " this post has been posted many tiimes before" But it wasnt ..
CCP is doing a good thing... With all of the nice new features we all love to have in our beloved internets pew pew game.
But eve is running some time now, and surely someone had a complaint about the pos management.

This is just part of the overall reason the corp and POS system needs to be COMPLETELY redone and made modular for the summer expansion.
Modular POS means you can make the POS anyway you want within Master PG and CPU limits. With many modules to choose from and options PER module so you can give a new player a bit of space and his/her personal module to store his/her ship
Modular Corp and alliance control so that adding or changing features isn't a nightmare for us and CCP. |

Two things need to happen, and they are really easy.
1. Treat POS's as Stations, meaning POS's can be established as a particular pilots' "based at"
2. Retool "Factory Manager', "research manager', and "production manager' permissions as a 'based at' level instead of a corp-wide functionality. 'config starbase equipment' and 'fuel tech' as well
This means that there is a meaningful way of splitting 'permissions' of lunar stations without having to resort to the ubiquitous 'Other' control panel, as well as adding the necessary divisions to control those stations' facilities seperately.
Right now, all POS equipment is an "Other" category that grants blanket access to EVERY pos where the person has even a single tick-box filled, and the game has not adapted to the fact that many corporations, particularly nullsec, have to live out of their POS infrastructures.
Trust management has to be better refined to account for the increasing needs for corporation security at an internal level. Carebear: Passive-agressive industralist; Prey. That is the reason to switch to a modular POS system. It will GREATLY benefit newer players who want to get into the big corps for nullsec experience.
Right now short of completely cutting off access to the POS. There is no way to truly isolate a member from access to other members assets. So it becomes a significant risk to let someone unknown in. That is why many demand someone vouch or demand Full API access (Which I no longer will give as my EVEmail is private period)
A modular system is a MUST in my opinion if EVE is to grow much beyond its current sub level. |
