Yea so my Eve time was going well until my electron laser ran out of charges and EVERYTHING smashed to a grinding halt. I started tearing up all of sudden unable to find a weapon merchant in the universe..market wanted 30,000isk for the cheapest and only have 15k.
How can I recharge my weapon or pick up a new one? I had to quit my business contract and logged b/c I couldn't acquire a new weapon q_q.
Plan help ty :] |

Electron laser? Lasers don't use up their ammo and a Gallente char is unlikely to be fitting lasers (I hope). You mean Electron Blaster?
Like everything else, ammo is bought on the market. There are no specialised weapons merchants like in other MMOs as almost everything is player made. Open the market, expand the group at the top (Ammunition and Charges) -> Hybrid Charges -> Standard Charges -> Small and buy what you need. Antimatter is most commonly used because it's the highest damage, but any of them will work in your blaster.
Oh, and if you quit a tutorial mission it won't be reoffered. F12 -> Support Ticket and ask a GM to reset the mission for you |

Yes, those are the beginner career agents. They're part of the tutorial.
I recommend you read popups carefully, last time I ran those there was a popup warning that if you quit the mission it would have consequences. |

No offense.
But buying a new weapon would have made this much impact: NONE.
You need to buy ammo, which is FAR from that expensive and easily affordable for a new player.
And good luck finding NPC Vendors...you will be looking around for years as they are VERY limited.
Basically, only skillbooks and vanilla Blueprint Originals are seeded by NPC. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

It definitely has...
To OP:
It's clear you have played other MMOs before.
1 major tip.
Forget anything you have learned there
In 99.99% of the cases, EVE works differently and approaching EVE like the other MMO ends up in disaster with lots of mechanics. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

Advice for a beginner.
Quote:You will die.
A lot.
And once you get good at things and understand how the game works, you will end up getting wtfbbqpwnzored by 2 people in frigates, and your battleship will be burning with you inside. They will demand you hand over more isk than you have in your virtual wallet, and you will realize that, in fact, you still know nothing about this game.
You will never win this game.
This isnGÇÖt a GÇ£winGÇ¥ game. There is no level 80. There is no set of achievements except the ones your set for yourself.
You arenGÇÖt safe. Anywhere. Period. PvP occurs in stations too. It is called The Market. You might not die, but your wallet could easily disappear.
You fit your ship wrong. Again. ThatGÇÖs right, you always will. GÇ£My Punisher killed that Rifter! This is certainly the right fit. No wait, how did that Coercer kill me? I need to refitGǪGÇ¥
Check your directional.
Check your local.
That Maller is a trap.
Warp stabilizers might save you today. They wonGÇÖt tomorrow, and probably wonGÇÖt ever again.
Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Neo didnGÇÖt learn Kung-Fu by having it sit in his usb drive.
Bookmark everything. ESPECIALLY when you jump into a wormhole. This includes where you came into the wormhole. Because when you are busy scanning and a HAC targets your Arbitrator, you will be in a pod. And then you will have a really interesting time getting out of WH space.
Keyboards are destructible. Much more so when used as a projectile.
DonGÇÖt fly it if you canGÇÖt fit it. That being said, DONGÇÖT FLY IT IF YOU CANGÇÖT FIT IT. And the same goes for affordability.
That mentally challenged fellow there in local chat calling you names? HeGÇÖs not mentally challenged. Nor is he forgiving when he finds you.
Pods pop easily.
Concord delivers swift justice, especially for your mistakes, like targeting friendly pods and clicking the wrong action.
You can do anything: Manufacture, explore, trade, pvp, mine, lead a corporation, lead an alliance, wage wars, pirate, transport, be a part of factional warfare, and IGÇÖm sure there is more I am leaving out. You can become virtually rich, and you can lose it all.
Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Ty for the replies all. I'm tired of the "traditional MMO" scene, feeling somewhat let down by every game I play. I want a game that that is larger than life and one that I won't be shorted for putting time in to it. I just quit GW2 and feel bitter and need something to fill the space. I've always loved space and science. This seems like an awesome world to escape in to.
Right now the trouble is FINDING anything. Everything has to be investigated, which is cool because my mind works like that. Eve seems to me more of a companion than a game. I log in and I WANT to read everything. Again ty for the replies and Im sure ill be consulting these forums to vent frustration, mingle with the players and seek advice :] happy universe :] :] |

Son... hold on to the memory of that bitterness you felt before... then come back after two or three years playing this game (or only one if you become the "logistics and manufacturing guy" for a corporation). I guarantee you will laugh your balls off. EVE will make you bitter and ask for more like a battered hooker with Stockholm's Syndrome.
Rose Gentiel wrote:Right now the trouble is FINDING anything. You have 4.5 major trade hubs in the game.
Jita: in Caldari space, biggest hub in the game, avoid during the weekends (or in general). Amarr: in Amarr space, second largest, has almost everything you need but not always at the lowest price. Dodixie: in Gallente space Rens: in Minmatar space Hek: in Minmatar space, somewhat limited in what is available.
And then you have a plethora of mini-hubs wherever people congregate. Faction Warfare staging systems (both in high-sec and low-sec) are often stocked with many different combat related items... for a "small" mark-up. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

To be fair that same box also says "you can decline 1 mission with an agent every 4 hours without penalty". The game doesn't tell you that declining a tutorial mission for whatever reason will fubar the mission chain and require a reset. |

No, the popup in question says something like 'This agent has no other missions to offer you, are you sure you want to decline?', not talking about the normal decline message. |

Lol Fluffers thanks for the laugh and informative to.
So I'm pretty baffled right now. Just so much to this game.
There is no step a >b >c in this game, its like, step a.1 .2 .3 so on.. Navigation is unlike anything I've ever seen, the break down of maps is simply mind boggling, and the interface is just the definition of confusion, but I want a challenge and a game with endless replay value; this seems like it will provide. The community seems really noob friendly which is good for me.
Need to take baby steps and just feel out one system and not try to tackle everything at once.. |

UI is not the best thing.
But give it 2 years and then have CCP move certain buttons (WTF, Where did the undock button go to). That will confuse you. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

But give it 2 years and then have CCP move certain buttons (WTF, Where did the undock button go to). That will confuse you. After the last major UI change (when the undock button was moved) I had an old vet log in for the first time in 2 years and say on comms, "wait... where's the undock button? WHAT DID THEY DO TO MY EVE?!?!"
@ OP... just take it slow and always read the "fine print."
As for the newbie friendly atmosphere... that only applies here in this forum and in "rookie systems"... once you venture out it all goes downhill from there... and soon you'll be rocking yourself in the corner with the shiv nervously staring at people who get too close mumbling, "... please use lube this time...."
Joking aside... take everything in stride and see your "failures" and "learning experiences." After all... it's all just pixels. And anything people can do to you, YOU can return in kind. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Eve does have some mean people in it... The funny thing is that they are often not the people who kill you should you venture to low-sec, null or w-space.
If you should die at the hands of someone, it's often worth striking up a conversation with them. (After you get your pod away... Always get your pod away. ) Many seemingly vicious pirates can and will offer advise on how to survive, what you did wrong, etc. A good attitude tends to get one far in this game. |
