No, that isn't true.
Nothing remotely close to the genre of Cowboy Bebop can be considered better or even as good as than Cowboy Bebop.
And nothing in a very different genre can be compared to it, let alone declared better.

I know its from the same maker, but its not really the same genre.
Trigun... is more of a comedy. But I don't think its even comparable to Bebop. Its just not as good, IMO. I couldn't even get into it.

I'll list everything I've liked, I guess:
Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex season 1 and 2. Cowboy Bebop and the movie Fullmetal Alchemist and the movie Serial Experiments Lain Gundam SEED (still need to finish this) Azumanga Daioh (still need to finish this--I prefer the manga though) .hack//SIGN Last Exile Texhnolyze (have not watched past the first ep but been told its good...) Appleseed Not at home so I probably forgot a few...
I heard Planetes is good too, haven't seen it though.

My God, I finally agree whole-heartedly with this guy... Maybe DS does know what he's talking about...

Yeah, the Manga for CB has more than that, but they cancled it over in Japan. Can't say I blame them though. I've heard the Japanese voices... I couldn't stand more than 5 minutes of the first episode. Thank God for the English dub! --- --- --- ---

If you want something older and a bit slapstick, Slayers is good; Fullmetal Panic and its sequels are good as well, and for something new Shakugan no Shana or Bleach are good.

As long as we're tossing out anime recommendations...
RahXephon. I've heard people call it "Evangelion done right," and that about sums it up; teenager Ayato Kamina pilots a giant mecha against alien invaders, but although it sounds cliche, the characters are all likeable enough, and the setting and plot twists unique enough, that it's a great deal of fun to watch... and unlike Evangelion, watching the series to its conclusion doesn't feel like an act of masochism.
Rune Soldier. Comedic fantasy anime, absolutely golden; incompetent-but-determined wizard (whose skills run more to fistfighting than spellthrowing) goes through some increasingly silly adventures and gradually earns the respect of his three female teammates. I think there might have been a plot in there somewhere too.
Uchuu no Stellvia/Stellvia of the Universe. It's an unashamedly feel-good anime, with very few outright unlikeable characters and such a sense of optimism to it that you just know everything's going to work out in the end. The plot could be described as 'Harry Potter in Space;' a bunch of gifted (and quirky) students at a space academy play their part in saving the Earth from cosmic disasters while going through all the things that normal (anime) teenagers do.

While I am one of the ones out there that is an Eva fan, RX is quite good, give it a shot.

Outlaw Star is similiar to cowboy beebop, and in some ways better.
cowboy Beebop is way too short.
And as far as anime goes, Akira pwns all.

Full Metal Alchemist had one of the most random-ass endings I've ever seen.
Seriously, WTF? The show was so good, then near the end it just seemed like the guy ran out of ideas and then **** something onto paper.
