To be a 1 man pirate corp? I know im not going to win any battles against any Alliances, or claim a region for myself. But still, i should be able to make ISK? But you never know, they could be solo Iterons V's flying alone carrying some worth while mods ;)
TBH im not one to sit camp at gates, im more of a "Go into 0.0 and try find some one to ransome/kill, get chased out by 100 people from the alliance" type ;) ------------------------------------------------ Please resize your signature graphic (max 120px*400px and 24,000 bytes) - email us if you want more information - Jacques([email protected]) |

You will learn a lot more about combat ect if you do just that and be solo ect. I personaly recommend that to anyone I talk to being it's much harder on your own than holding hands with some weak empire pirates.
You can still gate camp solo and all that good stuff but 0.0 is much more fun for me solo being I can do what I want when I want and not have to worrie about anything but myself...

i was solo for over 6 months before i joined veto, and then for a long while when i was in syndicate.
i love being solo sometimes. Its pretty eyebrow raising at times.
No Scouts, no real help. Your jumping into bottleneck systems at your own risk, well i did, amount of times ive jumped in blind in a bs into PF-346 or EC-P8R its stupid to think.
In alot of ways tho its a great advantage being solo. Most corps do give u alot of bs rules and move about when u dont want to or get into politics. Being solo for awhile u relise u gota rely on yourself, suppose thats a given really *shrugs*
Make your own rules, tho i would suggest you be as honour bound as possible and never accept 1v1's, stealth and surprise will always be my greatest weapon.
Basically being a sneaky bastard alot of time no one notices you in local, so its great. Even better when your a reccy cruiser Muhaahahaha

Thanks for the replies.
I was looking at the Recon Cruisers, Raptor is it for Caldari? Only need to get 1 or 2 skills to lvl 5 then i can fly them, but. I have a Cerberus, Eagle and do i want another Tech II ship that if i lose. I get about 10 Mil back?
ATM im im just trying out the cheap cruisers. So far a ECW Blackbird failed, although i was stiched up. Now, its time for a Vexor which should be tidy as i have high drone skills! -----------------------------------------------

Ferox is my favourite for cheap throw away ships, just resist the urge to fit anything else but t1. tbh until nos is looked at i wouldnt dare buy any Hac or anything that didnt have lots of meds and a nos bonus. Pilgrim curse in other words --------------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Specture on 21/04/2006 08:39:45 tbh i love my vexor becuase it is cheap. I have determined while HACs do a lot more damage it only takes some jammers, NOS to kill one, trust me i learned the hard way ;0. And yea you will get blobbed by anti pirate corps, but the fun is killing one of them that is bound to get bored and NPC (done this soo many times it's funny as hell) *
edit : in turn of recon ships however i like the arazu for ganking something like miners or something i can stick at 11km + and blast away with null and nuetron blasters. Cloaking means you can sneak around without your prey being alerted. (yes a lot of them know how to use a scanner). And it's classic to see in local wtf as you decloak and blast the crap out of them. I even had some guy ranting in local that I was haxing becuase he ddn't see me on scanner, hahahaha

ive been in one or two pirate corps since starting, and while usefull to be part of a team, i still prefered to be work alone, most of my kills have been solo kills, and you can make a fair amount of isk if done right. i suppose it depends on how you like to play the game ultimately tho..the choice is yours

It's possible, but why would you wanna make a corp if it's just you?

Edited by: Ange1 on 25/04/2006 12:15:04 Solo hunting is one of the best ways to learn PvP. It'll teach you the basics and give you a feel for how you like to fight and what you like to fly. Groups are of course the next level in PvP as you learn teamwork and co-ordination and additional skills you picked up from the more experienced players you might play with. And of course, its always easier to kill targets with more than one person.
My PvP career started just before I joined Shinra, solo hunting in a Blastethron, shield tanked and with no insta's or MWD. Amazingly, I still killed lots of stuff for such a poor setup =P

Well it was a semi struggle solo. Also its too easy to be locked down by 2+ other players.
Glad i joined SNIGGWAFFE. Now, out in frigs in gangs tearring up Scorps, Battlecruiser and cruisers :)
Much more profitable due to the kill ratio -----------------------------------------------

Pirating is very possible solo,
If you have a few mill behind you id recomend going at it in cheap tech I frigs and cruisers in lowsec. Look for belt targets (learning how to use your scanner while your at it, and getting quicker at finding your prey )
The main thing in piracy for ME (may not apply to all) is making a living from your profesion. Ie DO NOT MINE / NPC / OR RUN MISSIONS (unless u see a faction spawn... have it ) Its not a terribly high income profession unless you get lucky drops. But it will teach you to PvP, and it will bring you enjoyment...
Lol actually just read the op's post, you prob know how to PvP in basic forms anyway.. just go for it, you'l be fine

i think you fly solo just because nobody wants to fly with you.

Yup, very possible & very enjoyable solo at times. As long as your are prepared (safe spots & BM's for where you operate) and spend time to think about how you are going to fit your ship plus choose your targets well.

I disagree the best way to lear pvp is to get with someone who does know and share knowledege, learning by yourself can be tuff, all though you will eventually learn, it is better to fly with a m8 or two, preferbly one that has a lot of experience.
