Hey all PAX East 2014 visitors and New England Eve players! Come meet others at Mead Hall (TBD) in Kendall Sq Cambridge, MA.
Where: TBD (Most likely Mead Hall, waiting for confirmation)
When: Saturday, April 12 @ 8PM to midnight
What: Beer, laughs, food, beer
Directions:
From PAX: Walk to South Station and get on Red Line to Kendall Square (towards Alewife)
Using the car: Go to local electronics shop and buy a GPS, plug in address, follow that.
x up if you'll be there!
What if I don't have tickets to PAX East?
No problem, you don't need PAX tickets to come.
Open bar?
CCP is not sponsoring a PAX East event this year because it falls so close to FanFest. Since I'm not rich, sorry, no open bar this year. Like normal Boston meetups, it'll be a cash bar.
How long will it last?
Generally in the past, meetups have gone a few hours. People will trickle in and out. It's pretty informal.
What should I bring?
Bring yourself and a good attitude. Feel free to bring a laptop if you like, but generally not many have done that in the past. Also, there's no free wifi in the area (that I know about).
What if I'm under 21?
I believe it's fine as long as you are over 18 and don't try and order a beer.
Can I share this on my corp/alliance/social media/etc?
Please do! The more the merrier!
Can I bring non-Eve people?
Sure, but they'll probably get bored.
What if I have other questions?
Do not hesitate to shoot me an Eve Mail or ask here! Somehow the space postal agency does work in wormhole space, so I do check my mail!
I live in Boston and I want to be notified of future meetups in the Boston and New England area!

I will definitely be there. Are we reserving the top floor again? We should try avoiding get as many people there as possible from PAX but avoid the dining area turning into Jita.
It may be possible CL0NE will be there in force, prob 5-6 members if they aren't being pansies.

I don't think CCP is going to have an official presence at PAX this year. Any devs, GMs, CMs, etc would be more than welcome to come to this gathering. Hopefully a CCP or two will be there, but I don't know anything official.

There totally is free wifi, by the way-- I'm pretty sure you can see GoogleGuest from inside MeadHall. If not, you can *definitely* see it from inside Clover, just around the corner, but that's not quite in the meetup area.

If you're new to Cambridge and coming via Kendall T, walk through the Marriot and turn left. It's the last building on the left of that block.
If you've lived / worked around here for a long while, it's next door to where Quantum books used to be lol

My partner Charlaxy and I are planning on attending. We might end up being late though because we're going to be spending PAX East promoting our indie game in the exhibit hall.
Does anyone know if CCP might bring something fun to the event, like an Oculus Rift with Valkyrie? Both of us really want to try it, but we'll probably never get enough free time during the exhibit hall hours to head over to the Oculus VR booth. |

I can't express how disappointed this entire thing makes me. Some of us cannot attend FF, and only catering to fans who can go makes us feel pretty crappy. I am sure I will have fun at Pax East anyhow, but the primary reason I was going was because of my love of EVE and wanting to meet CCPers. The fact that we found out last minute that there would be no CCP presence makes me kinda angry. |

Hey folks,
Was good to meet everyone. Thanks for organizing, Mr Happypants. I have summarized my notes below:
- I was previously unaware that there was anyone from NA living in W-space. I thought only Europeans and New Zealanders lived out there -- Europeans because of their communal lifestyle, and Kiwis... well.... because of the hobbit thing.
- Vote for Ali. Singing was a key deciding factor on this. CCP hasn't had decent singing since spiraljunkey.
- PAX tickets sell out in the first day so I need to be quicker on the draw.

Had a lot of fun meeting everyone at the meet-up. Really cool to just chat with some Eve players and share a drink or two. Hearing Ali Aras sing Makalu Cries to get a Sunday PAX pass was probably worth the whole night. Shout out to all the capsuleers I shared a drink with.

Dear Dev,
That sucks that you can't do that, however you may want to announce something.... because some people payed for tickets just for your booth. Imagine if people payed for plane tickets! 
I would recommend and amazing EVE or Dust 514 giveaway/codes for goodies, Genalution 3 & 4's, Pirate Frigs, Proto Drop Links, Logi. You guys are smart, I'm sure you will figure something out!
