SERK finished our empire war contract against Stella Nova United tonight. During the war alliance membership dropped from 777 members to 469 members.
Stella Nova losses: 16 Battleships, 1 Battlecruiser, 6 Cruisers, 1 Recon Ship, 2 Destroyers, 2 Interceptors, 1 Assault frigate, 10 Frigates, 8 Industrials, 6 Shuttles, 4 Noob ships and 32 Capsules.
SERK losses: 1 shuttle
Id like to wish Stella Nova United luck with their future plans and thank them for a smack free and enjoyable contract.

Edited by: Graalum on 21/04/2006 22:18:55 lol i don't think anyone really knew we were at war with you.
internal problems led to several of the corps leaving, including most of the pvpers. Props to CI btw. Excellently fought war.

Im sure there are other reasons. We are usually employed to add a little extra pressure in empire. Thats the weeks results. Make any conclusions you want about it. |

Our killboard has a link in the sticky on this forum. Just search using Stella Nova United as the victim alliance. The stats are from our posted killmails. The membership figures come from the alliance rankings tab. Ive only included kills from our killboard so its not including anything from your other conflicts. |

Stupid. If you think your war did anything to affect the amount of members in SNU you'd better find better sources. They stick togheter a lot better then to let a few empire ganks affect the alliance. There were problems of a different nature, problems I don't know your group were even aware of.
But I guess whoever you contractors were, they ain't going to be happy with the current situation.

So, errr, what IS the situation with SNU?
During our war dec we saw/fought them very little in empire (at any rate this was the reason given by HC for withdrawing the dec, and I certainly don't remember any empire fights with them).
I heard CI went and gave them a fight in 0.0, and now this thread talks of 'internal troubles' in this thread.
Not flaming here, just an honest question as to what's going on, anyone? Did I miss something obvious? - - - - - - - - - -

Well i dont know all the entitys involved within this last month agaisnt SNU but can say that CI layed a massive blow to there 0.0 operations with the destruction of POS's and the stealing of ships from outside pos force field and pure gankage.
I notice Serial killers doing a excellent job in empire tho stopping there haulers and ships getting out to 0.0
looked like mass fun :)
Good luck to you guys in serk looked like you had mass fun

SNU never had a "real fight" before
little incursions into their space into the past shown me that if they had a big invasion that they wouldnt be able to handle it tbh
i dont know the whole story but it is looking that the combined pressure of 0.0 fighting and empire warefare contributed to the internal problems and hence the loss of membership
oh well GJ to serial killers and CI! Sig file too big, please keep below 24000 bytes. For info mail [email protected] - Cathath |

I'm no official diplomat to be speaking, so I won't rock the boat. Let's just say loytalties were tested and many failed the test. The only thing SNU has suffered from since the beginning, and especially lately, is themselves. There is now however a stronger sense of pride and organization in SNU. Thanks to those that were catalysts to this change for the better (in my opinion).

looking at their killboard, this contract only lasted a week. serial killers did a great job. the loss of 16 battleships certainly isn't enough to bring an alliance to its knees, but as oldgiffer said: it absolutely added the extra pressure, which was what the contract was all about. so no matter what the reason for the loss of members was: the contract was a success.
keep up the good work, serks. |

Well since I was a former SNU member in the know, I'll share what happend :)
Simply Cruel Intentions found SNU's weakness and exploited it like a champ. That weakness was that we did not have the amount alliance people required to repel an attack on the Euro time zone.
CI managed to remove several pos's and we were not able to defend the pos's. We tried to hire a euro merc group to defend the pos's and none could be found because they were already under contract for a few weeks.
Knowing our pos's would not last that long I negiated as the third ranking person in SNU with CI to leave the area. However, when the SNU chairman logged in he said to dis-regard the agreement.
The Chairman had no plans, no goals, no merc help, and he countered the only safe thing to save the alliance from happening. The chairman then proceded to convo CI and **** them off. The next day more corps were conacted by CI and told if you leave SNU you can leave peacefully. Several accepted.
So there you have it.
As for empire wars it never had any effect on us, we had such an intrigrated empire operation that we moved things on empire corps and meet up with SNU members at the edge of empire and traded our goods. It was quite a good solution for empire wars and even in non-war we worked that way.

Very well stated. We didn't intentionally "exploit" your weakness, it just happens to be that CI is pretty strong in the Euro times--I'm the only active US player AFAIK. And even then I get up early enough to play in the Euro times. Just out of curiousity, does Martin Hartl happen to be the Oh-so-great "chairmen"?

No there are more than a few active US players, me being one. And yeah, I set my alarm to do some of the those POS takedowns.

People are reading too much into this post.
Giff simply put the kill and lost count on the site to allow people to see our results. Not taking credit for taking down an alliance. Not showing off cos we killed some ships. Our corp has only recently over the past few months looked into turning merc and we are posting our results in the hope of maybe getting a few contracts. We would have just as happily war dec'd any other corp had put forth a contract.
We have been an active pvp corp for a long time now. Anyone interested in our services should contact Oldgiffer.
Just to repeat. We are not taking any credit for the work of other corporations or alliances. Simply posting our kill list.
Many Thanks.
The Holy One....

Hmm those who choose to stay and not give up are the carebears? Geminate is our home, our corp will not leave until all our POSs has been blown up and our last ship is destroyed.
I am no part of SNU alliance leadership but if I have understand things correctly what happened was:
a) John Blackthorn make a deal with Cruel Intention to leave Geminate and CI grant a cease fire.
b) However, not all corps agreed with that decision and several corps wanted to stay and it should be voted if we were going to stay or leave.
c) Cruel Intention contacted our chairman, Manalo and asked if the SNU were going to stick with agreement to leave Geminate. Manalo told CI the truth that we were going to vote about if we were going to leave or not. CIs reaction to that (and I can't blame them, I would have done the same if I were them) was to withdraw the cease fire.
It might have been a lot more clever to lie and say "sure we are leaving" and when the cease fire ended say "sorry we changed our mind" . But that would not be an honorouble thing to do and honour is rated high in our alliance. Cruel kept their word and we should do the same.
After this there were a lot of screaming in alliance from those who wanted to save their stuff and get out of Geminate. One option remained open for those who wanted to get out of Geminate with their equipment safe and that was to leave SNU and that is why some corps has left SNU.
---
We are of course under heavy pressure and have some serious trouble to deal with. But we are far from dead yet. We are determined to stay no matter what it cost us (it is just ISK anyway).
Any pvp corp (no pirates though) that is prepared to take on a tough fight with a skilled enemy like Cruel Intention are more than welcome to join SNU. I am sure we can find you a nice home.
