Hello, Can i just ask - why is the copying of bookmarks so difficult? The only reasons i can see are these:
- To purposely make it harder to share instas
- Devoting small amounts of resources to it to not put much strain on the servers
- That it actually does just strain the servers alot so it lags out
Also, if the first case is true - then surely this puts newer players at a disadvantage as they would be unable to inherit instas which the veteran players already have?..
Have we actually already got a good answer for this? My apologies if we have.

The devs have previously stated that usage of instas may be unfair in certain situations. Regarding the load - it's not having the instas that brings load onto the servers - but the copy process itself. However it seems like they have distributed the load of copying now ...

BM's are hard to copy??? I just ran off a few hundred the other day and it seemed a very easy procedure to me. What is so hard about copying bm's??????

#2 & #3 I believe. It can max out the SQL database easily if they were given free reign to copy as fast as possible, so instead they trickle copy and limit the strain.
Maybe a bit of #1 into the mix too.

Book marks, not BPO/BPC copies.
BMs are hard to copy because the devs want them to be, for whatever reason that might be. It's not reasonable to assume it's a hardware limit, nor a software limit. It's probably a mix of reasons. The individual load of one set of BMs copying is almost nothing, but 20k people copying bms could cripple even the RAMSAN dB server. And most likely of all is that the priority of actions happening in the DB puts bookmarks last. So they are only able to copy when there are free cycles in the DB server. ___________________________________________ The deeper you stick it in your vein, the deeper the thoughts there's no more pain. ___________________________________________ |

Considering Most of the server lag is becuase of the instas. they need to purge them out and everyone would notice a huge difference,
Or put them on clinet and they would only load with the system you are in would reduce serverside lag 70% ________________________________ Club Seals Not Sandwichs |

Link for the stats kthx.
If you do the copying on a node with little load, it's quite quick. The trick is finding one.
