I'm at a skill training crossroads, and I can't decide which way to go. I mostly play solo since all the corps I end up in seem to be fly by night gigs that go from 30 members to 2 in about 3 days. But right now I can either go hardcore combat or covert ops and see where that takes me. Can I get some opinions? What do you guys find more enjoyable to fly?
Since I'm trying to play mostly from an Amarr perspective (semi-RP I guess) that limits the ship choices. So if you had to fly either an Amarr Cov. Ops rig or an Amarr AF what do you guys think?
Keep in mind that I'm having really really bad luck finding corps so I might just give up on that an stay solo.

If you are going to play solo, go with AF.

the AF will allow you to do virtually ever lvl 3 mission as well as accompany potential m8's on lvl 4's. You'd also be able to solo a bunch of complexes and the retribution seems to be the most efficient PvE AF currently. (I said efficient not the best)
AF first, then train up for Covert Opts on the side...so at least you'd be able to make some bank during your extended training.

I love my Cov Ops ship for making BM's and moving around. That being said they are mostly worthless for combat (great for giving that blasterthron buddy a warp in point though. And yeah some have solo pirated with it but most of those folks have moved on to recon ships).
Assault Frig will give you the ability to do lvl 3 missions, pvp, belt rat (well the smaller spawns), etc..
Long term? Both! Short term? AF.

Covert ops all the way. Every fc or pirate friend you have will automatically get moist panties.

Edited by: Calleb on 22/04/2006 08:16:14 I was doing a cosmsos mission the other day, (cant remember the name but it was an amarr lvl 3 agent in ni****d) and he recommended to me to go and do a multiple cruiser kill mission in my covert-ops ship -
Now I have plenty of covert-ops hanging around, but i realy doubt that this would have been posible to break a cruiser tank with the piddling little weapons that can be fitted to covert-ops ships. Anyhoo I went in with my AF and polished them off quick enough.
Covert-ops are great ships for safe travel in dangerous places, scounting and the likes, but unfortunately are just not versitile enough for much else, until they get their well needed boosts.
***edit OK why does nid.upad get nerf bat of censorship. Is it rude in Iceland? You DEVs came up with the name in the first place
