This module is aimed at providing some anti-capital functionality for small gang warfare.
It should have a negligible impact on large scale capital ship fights where there is enough DPS and alpha on field to render the benefits of Siege and Triage modes obsolete (or close to it).
Here's the basic concept: Siege and Triage modules would gain "Strength" attributes.
Tech 1 modules would have strength of 5 and T2 modules would have strength of 7.
The "Strength" of an active Siege/Triage module can be reduced by 1 point by the Siege/Triage Disruptor.
When strength is reduced to zero or below, that Siege/Triage module instantly deactivates.
This is the same mechanic used with warp disruptors and warp core stabs to determine if a ship may enter warp or not, so it shouldn't be too difficult to implement.
The primary advantage of this approach over other "anti-capital" ideas is quite simply that it's not just a big gun on a small ship. It largely mitigates the threat posed by the target capital ship without actually destroying it.
Currently, the only ways for sub-capitals to counter Siege/Triage modes are straight DPS and energy neuts. Both of those have the advantage of flexibility in that they can also be used against sub-capital targets. This module would be limited to use against capital ships and should therefore be more effective against them than DPS or neuts due to it's niche role.
Closing thoughts Module needs a better name. Should it work against Bastion modules as well? Fleet Bookmarks New Gravimetric Sites Med Clones 2.0 |

Pretty sure people would use it to rescue their own ships from siege and triage.
People use siege and triage in large scale capital fights all the time, so... you're a bit off base there.
you have not justified why this is necessary at all

-1 People using it to rescue their own ships did occur to me. So what? I don't see a problem with that.
I am aware that Siege/Triage is used all the time in big capital fights. I probably didn't make my point clearly so...
My point was that Siege/Triage mode is much more significant in small fights and therefore needs a better small scale counter than currently exists.
Why do I need to justify anything? It's just an idea, not a strategy for the invasion of Ukraine Thanks for posting. Fleet Bookmarks New Gravimetric Sites Med Clones 2.0 |

Because siege mode doesn't have enough disadvantages already.
This change is obviously targeted at triage carriers. It would be better to adjust Triage and/or carriers directly then to also affect dreads, which are balanced entirely around their siege mode. - Mission Overhaul - Bridging the PVP / PVE Gap - -áIf the game stops teaching people to fear lowsec, maybe people will start going there? |

Well the instant it comes out of siege/triage you would have to click warp scram, otherwise they could just jump out. bit of a 50/50 moment. |

I don't like the idea.
Triage and Siege have a commitment. If you want to utilize the bonuses (and Dreads certainly want to), you do so by crippling your own mobility for 5 minutes. Having the ability to bring your corpmembers and just nuke your Triage/Siege-Cycle would remove the weakness that goes with it. Especially with carriers offering refitting capabilities to it's allies, you could bring a Carrier, hit Triage, and if you realize that this was probably a bad idea, you just pull it out of Triage and bring it to safety.
Against Dreadnoughts it would be too powerful, since a Dreadnought can ONLY do things that are worth mentioning while sieged up. During smallscale Capital Brawls, it would also be a way of saving your Dreads reliably by pulling them out of Siege, have a Triage Carrier rep em up, pull the Carrier out of Triage and put the Dread back into Siege.
...
imagine what RnK would do with this. |

No demonstrated need for a handful of supcaps to be able to knock a capital out of it's siege/triage cycle.
Easily abusable by a single ship with a large number of whatever slots this takes dropping a mobile depot and refitting a half dozen of the scramblers on.
As I have said before, someones unwillingness or inability to counter a strategy or ship does not by definition mean that there needs to be another easier way for them to use.
-1 for trying to solve a problem that does not exist and "fixing" it in a manner than a blackbird with a midrack full of there can counter a triage carrier. |

Point 3, you're saying there's a need for a counter, but most would disagree with that premise. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"

There is already a counter to capitals used in small gang... bring energy neuts... capacitor is life.. no cap.. no life.. death follows..
This module would be abused to remove the commitment factor that capital ships should have. If you want to take down capitals small gang I recommend joining a wormhole corporation who lives with a C5 static and get shown and taught how its done. -Bl+¦d |
