Ok, so I finally get my hands on a shiny diamond tag yesterday, so I take a shot at the bonus stage.
I did check out Chepe nolon's mission stuff but it doesn't really have that much info about the bonus stage.
I figure I have the experience and know what I'm doing so I should be able to handle it. I have a Raven with a full-on faction kit, EXP/KIN resists approaching 90. Not a problem, right? Solo the first 5 gates without ever getting into danger.
Hop into the bonus stage and all those lovely sentries decide they like me. I make the stupid mistake of shooting at a sentry first. 15 billion NPC frigs descend upon me like the fists of a bunch of tiny gods. The client locks up (sound stuck, repeated over and over) I reboot and come back in a pod.
Ok, so picking at the sentries maybe wasn't a good idea. But to anyone who has soloed the bonus stage, are there distinct groups of NPCs in the pocket, or is it all one big gang thats going to go off all at once?
I figure the best bet is to tank the sentries and get out of range, then start in on the npcs.
Comments, suggestions?

The Level 3 bonus stages are all 1 large group of enemies. In GE they aggro when you warp in, in AE they don't. I've heard the level 4 bonus stages can wipe multiple BS's trying them.

Yeah, it didn't take long at all..
Mebbe 20 seconds on the reboot. Another 15-20 to get logged in again and it was already toast.
I think if I had had sufficient range I could have held it except for the crash.
So, all one group. Well I know for next time.

yep - they all aggro together.
only times i have done it are when i have had help.
first person to warp in always aggros the sentrys, the second person engages the ships. makes it a bit easier if u can split the fire the person who gets the ships definitely needs to have the better tank. -

Iv'e done the lvl 4 version 5 times. Usually in a Cerb and always in a group. Every single time someones lost a bs to the ship agro. Support ships to help the person who gets the ship agro is a must.

Good question..
What drops from the Angels's retirement home and the battlestation?

i'm just guessing, but i'm betting it'd be something really worth the effort... like maybe 100 thorn rockets, or some cargo scanners perhaps... or maybe even 100 cruise missiles....!!!!
You know... the kind of stuff you just love to find after putting a few hundred torps into a station cos you were told by the mission info page there was loot in it.

The AE lvl4 bonus can be done solo with a faction equip BS Me think the Raven rules here. I solo it some time ago with my billions equip Raven (all my wallet was in that ship heh!) and i almost had an heart attack.. Actually, my heart stop as tons of blinking reds fillup the screen.
Too many ships for my comp to handle so i was there, waiting for the next frame to come.. . the fight looking much like a slide show. The game let me click 3 times before going to frames drop. I was cleaver anough to activate shield boosting and nos at first. It takes me bout 2 hours if i remember.
All i can say is the reward doesnt worth the risk.. for me (no faction mod) . I'll never do that stupid bonus mission again, at least not alone.

Good to know then. I had been planning on clearing the place with my Raven and coming back in an apoc to finish off the structures.. had almost two hours left to complete and still get the bonus so I coulda napped while waiting for the structures to die.
I figured since the retirement home is an overseer structure it must have some kinda good loot, or at least a chance to drop good loot.

The station gives me some cruisers and some top BS loot (1 or 2 best named mod) + a domination tag + 20k banes torpedo. And if i remember the total bounty for the bonus lvl was a total of 14 or 17 millions, can't remember exactly.. i wonder if the EVE wallet-journal keep info for a long time so i can browse it to that insane fight (few months ago) ? i'll check it when i have time

I was at ~13 mill in bounties after the first 4 gates, so about 4mill more?
20k Bane torps isn't anything to sneeze at, I spend all day throwing those things at angels..
The wallet does keep info that far back as far as I know, but its a pain in the arse to get. I really wish I could export my entire wallet to a file and do some playing with it.
