Edited by: Huzza Amaa on 23/04/2006 01:06:34 A couple of days ago I had a think about a possible story I could write. I do not ocnsider myself a great story writer but I have decided to see how I go on this one. I have devised a blurb, which is below:
"It is the year 23547. In a small scientific station in the New Eden system, a junior scientist notices a small anomaly in the EVE gate while performing a scan. When she alerts her superiors, they are puzzled. Was it extraterrestrials? Was it a sign of disturbance with the gate? Or was it simply an equipment malfunction? The matter is left unresolved, ignored by the Empires or fogotten by everyone else.
Meanwhile, EVE is on the cusp of a massive interstellar war. Having survived the diplomatic fallout of the 23300s, the empires are once again bickering their way into conflict. When a contingent of the Amarrian Foward Fleet is decimated by mysterious ships in an attack on Matari outposts, the Amarrians are left speechless. First they hold the Jovians rensponsible, then the Caldari. Both plead innocence. The situation is rapidly dissolving.
In New Eden a young Gallente, Entione Beschauffer, is conducting research for a PhD on the EVE Gate for the University of Caille. While he is there, he uncovers the sole printout of what station managers tell him is an erroneous scan. When he looks at it more closely, he realises that the scan has in fact picked up a small space probe emerging from the gate. He is both stunned and bewildered. Have the unusual decimations of random military targets of late in fact been caused by humans emerging through the gate?
As soon as Entione arrives back in Gallente space, the printout is seized by Federal police. WIll it bring peace and unity, or will it be used to wage war and destroy?"
Note that this is not finished.
I await your opinions.

Your idea includes something coming through the EVE gate.

No problem.
If you're interested in EVE roleplaying and/or EVE fiction, I suggest you check out the OOC Forums. We even have one forum section dedicated to discussing EVE fiction and one dedicated to posting and getting feedback on your own fiction. -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

invole your story in the relationships wih the dramas of people and not so much that of major events that the typcially line of "Humble student" trips over massive find.
Not very exciting.
In this case your trying to write prime fiction and not fan fiction. Shrink the scope of your story WAY down and focus the conflict of the story between people and not the empires.
