Well the Goonies started to come back to to Lower Syndicate after their road trip to help ERA vs D2 up in Branch. So our allies Black Reign Syndicate decided to throw a party and put up a large POS in S-U. Woot! flashes and bangs, it's almost like fireworks!
The celebratory tower-raising ceremony was preceded by a series of nice military parades and exercises and we invite everyone to look at the NBSI/Black Reign Syndicate/Supremacy and allied killboards between about 21:00 April 22 and 01:00 April 23 to examine the hundreds of sacrificial ships that were laid along the ceremonial pathway.
Thanks to Snigg and CONIN for party-crashing and doing a happy dance round the S-U gate in the middle of the celebrations.
We expect the party to last much of the weekend and earlier today it seems many bubbles and campfires have been spotted throughout the area, and sparkly fields that precede capital ship deployment have lit up the skies. Looking forward to logging in later for an update.
Seriously, many good fights OSS (and Snigg/CONIN too) - was a lot of fun and very smack free for the most part. Keep it coming!

yeah when the snigg/conin fleet jumped in virtually everyone had horrific lag, our scout even lagged out sat few hundred KM out
Our gang leader was a little rusty, while since they used the BMs, so hence our bizarre warping around, luckily it didnt cost us anyone. but yeah, im just so ******* ****ed, i stuck to my normal of (genuinely) having to log litterally, just before combat (god damm girlfriend) so i missed our big fight, returned an hour later to find lots of kills and losses. oh well, i just gotta get out of that bit of space now, fun fun fun

Edited by: Doctor Draw on 23/04/2006 22:25:45 Edited by: Doctor Draw on 23/04/2006 22:25:16 It was a good fight yesterday. Alas, we have been laid low by the BRS secret weapon: the incessant petition. Will this alliance between BRS, NBSI, Suprem, -A- and the GMs hold or will infighting neutralize the might of their petition onslaught? Only time will tell. If you mute us, we will fight on. If you temp-ban us, we will fight on. If you permaban us, we will fight on. Each goon petitioned into the void for some trivial infraction will be replaced by three more until the server architecture of the very universe itself collapses. We are legion!

Seriously though guys. How many alliances did you say were in on that fight? Five? Six? And you crow about it like it was some kind of victory.

so lets swing it round. if there are 5 one hundred man alliances, versus 1 alliance with 2000 members. which would you put money on? i dont like goons, as much as i dont like anyone else down there. it just frustrates me when ppl take such a narrow point of view on the issue,

All that matter was we didn't get all dressed up for nothing. I personaly had a blast minus the lag. My alt's apoc managed to engage quite a few targets before having to warp out...came back in and I guess I was primary. Made it out the second time with 462 structure, and as we all know in a fight like that it was blind luck to get out with that much.(o/\o) High five to all who were there. Much fun.

For clarification.
There were two incidents that were petitioned.
1) Goons spammed local with fo, huge blocks of fofofofofo, and with dozens of them doing it, then it does not do the node any favours.
2) Today goons spammed the gates with cans to lag people getting out, or to break cloaks.
Aside from that, great fights. Contraband your battleships do insane damage. I had a heavy PvP tank on and you were chewing through it, thankfully by the time we were fighting you later on the lag had cleared and I managed to warp out.
It's difficult to gauge the number of kills and losses. But a conservative estimate would be 300 kills for my side, and around 40 losses. I'd expect the kills to be a bit higher and the losses a bit lower, but I don't want to be seen to be fabricating.
Remedial welcomed us to S-U, and it's only fair to put his welcome message here.
Remedial
Remedial, we have no intention of leaving.
As for the number of alliances we brought, I don't think that's much of a valid point really when you consider the numbers. But it was NBSI Alliance, Black Reign Syndicate, along with several corporations including Supremacy.
The lag got so bad that between engagements we had to kill every drone and cargo can on the 6-U gate :)
But thanks to all sides for turning up and having a go at it. It's no fun if people won't fight, and OSS at no point lost their appetite for it.

"Petitioning is the last redoubt of cowards and the small minded." - Benjamin Franklin
Explain away, Whosyodaddy. You have always run crying to a station and then straight to mommy GM whenever you get your teeth kicked in by a fleet willing to fight. Oh no, someone said a bad word in local! This is a family game!
Maybe for the next battle you can go through our member list and petition some guy with "butt" in his name. Then you can laugh about him getting banned in local. Cuz yo, thaz how the big baby crew rollz. Earnin' respect one petition at a time!

Really these threads are just one huge attempt to troll combined with flaming and circlejerking. I think we'll let the fact that you spent all day hiding in your POS between getting your "hundreds of (frigate) kills" so that your last battleships weren't destroyed speak for itself.
No GoonFleet posting in this thread guys, thanks.

Actually I spent all day warping in to the fight to watch my fps turn to fpm, still trying to figure out how I got my ship out alive. I seriously need a new computer....any donors to the cause?

lets not forget SNIGG were there too. but yeah, when one of the top 10 corps based on combat SP/player goes out in a BS fleet gank setup, they usually will do insane damage. i think of the combined SNIGG, CONIN fleet, very few (if any) of the BS ran T1/named.
As for great fight? yeah ive enjoyed it, but i prefer fleet battles to small ganks. Like to point out the small incidence of Sk Rooster [206] who logged off, not once but twice on as many days to save his pod. Since interdictor bubbles, are bugged and let logged pods warp off. First time we had a covert ops to scan in local. second time, too many fleets were around to move a covert out to scan him. couple this with the fact we have admissions from SK rooster and a chat log which 50+ ppl saw him say "ok" when asked "are you going to log again to save your pod?"
truely lame. i know that ANY Contraband member who pulls that kind of lame tactics will be severly disciplined and almost certainly removed. Im pretty sure Shamis expects a similar level of honour and integrity(sp) amongst his pilots, with similar concequences.
206 were once a PVP corp, Swaffer and Sk Rooster have between themselves, ruined any respect i have ever held for 206. truely a shame since there are some good pilots there.
i wish everyone in lower syndicate good fights and maybe if our current contracts fail to fight/log on, we could go on a quick tour of syndicate regardless im sure our contracts could be 2 months long and the battle will still be raging

We suicided into a fleet twice our size but I'm glad we did, because I haven't had that much fun in a while.
Jumping in to S-U the lag was ridiculous, but when we actually engaged I was surprised that I got maybe 2 seconds of module lag max, and nearly no client lag. Then again, maybe I just got lucky.
Great fight though.

Well considering you have 1) 100 Goon Frigate/Cruiser Fleet. 2) Enemy Fleet. and 3) A bunch of cans then your lag can be horrendous. So in basically it can be considered an exploit. Intentionally placed cans can only be 10 in number is what the GM said today. Not sure if it goes on how many are in system/area but that is a base to give you an idea. Not sure how many cans were actually there as I dont feel like being lagged to death but I guess it was a lot.

Simply because no GM has said "Hacking eves db and disabling the accounts of your enemys" is an exploit, doesnt make it any less of one.
Just as you dont need a GM to say "Dropping large numbers of cans to induce lag when enemys jump in is not allowed" to know youre ghey.
Common sense goes a long way, but I guess not far enough to reach s-u8
Of course people whine, its cause your sig sucks

Actually, the cans weren't ever intended for lag. The cans were being deployed (and there were about 50, not 500 or some retarded number) in the rough areas that the BRS/NBSI guys kept warping in from at 200-250km from everybody, taking 3 shots, and then running back to their POS. Hastrabull himself must have warped in and out at least 10 times to the 6-U gate, coming in way the hell away, immediately turning around to align, taking a shot or two, and then insta'ing straight back to his POS to sit for another 20 minutes and wait for his covops to get to another clear patch.
After about 12 hours of this, we started to get annoyed that they wouldn't actually fight us in ANY sort of a fleet engagement, so we started putting cans down where they'd warp in, and in the general area. Of course, 30 minutes later a GM arrives in a Polaris and tells us that we'd been petitioned for "exploiting" the game by putting down cans. Apparently setting up 7 bubbles around a gate (us) or 6 bubbles around a POS (them) which causes infinitely more lag than a bunch of cans ISN'T an exploit, but laying down some cans to stop covops/snipers IS.
Whatever, we'll continue to keep the entire area sealed off and NBSI/BRS/SUPR and whomever else they manage to bring in will be sitting in that POS until it pops. We don't need petitions to win, so we'll just keep fighting and NOT crying to the GMs. I think it's telling just how far Supremacy and NBSI have fallen by the wayside when they're reduced to petitioning GoonFleet from their safespot inside a POS instead of marching out onto the battlefield for any sort of a straight up fight.
Syndicate: where once-great corps come to die and be forgotten.

Remedial, Thanks for mentionting me :)
As far as you know im sitting in S-U for over two weeks now.
Most of the time i was completely alone in BATTLESHIP and you might fleets could not stop me.
Why? Cause I outsmarted your fleet. Outskilled your fleet.
To sum it up. Our force is smaller, but more skilled. Your Goons are like zergs. Dozens of them and they die in hundreeds.
To win with you, we must use our brains, not just pure guns. We do it with great success.
