Well, I'm reporting live from the Eve Online site at Armageddon!
We're located next to the Nintendo and Playstation/PSP booths, in the corner of the main floor...the area is the "Gaming Area" obviously
We're now heavily involved with setting things up, and so far nothing has gone wrong...which of course means there will be a major Eve crash for the next 2 days starting tomorrow

Sounds like a lot of walking....and thinking....and using other parts of my body I'm not accustomed too  I'm sure I'll find it, whats the story on entry - cant I just pay $15 at the gate or something? I guess I could always dress up as an Maori and say im a Minmatar character?

well due to a very small technical hitch, we now have a "free space" at the stand, so anyone who wants to bring their laptop along, and play Eve hooked up to a 32" LCD all day long, feel free!!

Yeah for sure, we've already had a couple of guys come along and log in, and show the people what the game's been about.
So far the response has been wonderful, people are loving the game, and the free trials are being asked for by masses of peeps, so it's great.
Hope to bring some pics of the booth later today, but it's going smoothly

Well it was a good showcase of eve to new people.
I think I got to met raznarok (I met someone who said they were from millenium), and I def met either JForce or his mate.
There was some big TV's playing a lot of the high production player vids and there was 3 laptops which were kept busy letting people have a go.
All in all quite promising.

And I agree I thought it went rather well, seemed to be quite of very interested people just a shame that the bloody place wasnt heated!

The sister of one of my corp mates was down in Windyburg and said that EVE on the big screen absolutely rocked. That was a non players view so hopefully it will attract new players.

I would like to thank all the Eve players who came and said hello, and logged in to play for a while, to show the public some real action.
We had a number of the best Eve videos playing on the big screen, and the reaction from the public was fantastic!
All the PCs were displayed on 32" LCDs too, so whether it was a new player creating a character, or one of the veterans ratting or PvPing, people could see what was going on, as questions, and generally ooh and aah.
We gave out hundreds of free-trial cards, and chatted with hundreds of people so hopefully there will be a lot of people trying out the game in the coming weeks!
As an exercise in raising the profile of Eve I have no doubt that we succeeded. A majority of people simply didn't know it existed. After commenting on how great the graphics are, their next question was often "when is it released?"
I'd like to thank Angel Violette for helping me out, and of course CCP for making it possible. We had a great weekend showcasing Eve for the people.
Our thoughts turn to the Big One in Auckland towards the end of the year, and I'll be chatting to CCP about what we can do for that. I've had a lot of players say that they'd love to help out, so I can assure you that whatever is decided, I'll be contacting you to see where you can lend a hand.
