Since the new patch my drones have been disintegrating for no reason what so ever. I understand that the new patch said that drones would disintegrate if you tried to launch more in space when you already have some that are offline, but I was mining with 7 for about an hour and the drones simply dispeared. Im sure this is related to the new patch as its never happened before and the new patch has that added feature... its just turning out to be quite hard on my wallet, has this problem been acknowledged and is being fixed?

I've had this too. I was mining with three drones (my current skill limit) quite happily and then just as I was about to finish my third indy load one of my two Basic Miner Drones just vanished. No valid reason that I can see.

Anyone else had this? I'd hate to suddenly lose my Harveys.
Just because we are paranoid, doesn't mean you're not out to get us. |

Edited by: Georg on 19/09/2003 13:04:28 An update on my case. It turns out the drone didn't disintegrate: it obviously just found a small wormhole. When I went back to the belt last night it had reappeared, no damage or anything. Just recaptured it and no problems with any of my three mining drones so far since then.
I've no idea what the problem is: but when it originally vanished it vanished from my launched drone screen, the scanner, visual, everything. And then last night back as if it had just been abandonned.
Just to add, the drone vanished with the first patch update on Wednesday and reappeared after the second last night. Maybe something had been fixed by then.

Georg.. this always happens. This has nothing to do with the latest patch.
It seems you mined close to the edge of the grid. When your drones flying and mining close to the edge of the grid sometimes they jump off :-) They can't find back so you must go to search them. Always keep an eye on your sheeps. They are so helpless without you

It may also be a result of mining monster roids. There's a whole thread about this, but essentially just like a roid will sometimes throw your whole ship out of a belt, sometimes it'll also toss your drones. I lost 6 of 8 active harvesters to this last week, only to find the little chaps floating in space there 2 days later, acting all casual like they didn't owe me an explanation or anthing
