I thought these would be suitable for beginners and a good way to bump up standings etc. I accepted the first mission offered to me which requires me to get 3 copper tags from pirates in surrounding belts. I've spent an hour or so trolling round popping the odd baddy - but no tags. In fact thinking about it, I've never found a tag on any of the hundreds of (mainly Serpenti) pirates I've dispatched. The only way to get the tags is buy them at over 100k a pop. The first few linked missions would require a newbie to find over 3 million isk.
1. Do these missions have a place in the storyline?
2. What will happen to my standing when I fail the mission?

COSMOS are not really new player friendly, though also not "end game" mission runner food.
1. In what storyline?
2. They will drop, and you won't be able to do them ever again. COSMOS missions are a 1 time only deal. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

There is no 'storyline' in the journal with the COSMOS missions like there is with the Sisters of Eve or the faction Epic arcs. As already mentioned, they are a one time run so don't abandon them. |

Overall, I'd rate the tag drops fairly rare in hisec.
You will want to buy the tags before you ever find them as drops. |

I started Gallente mission "Keeping Crime in Check". Looking on Evelopedia, I'd need at least 69 tags to the end of level 2.
The types of missions at level 1 (90% courier) seem very basic. Even at level 2 it's 75% courier.
I tried to start on the first mission but the agent wouldn't talk to me, so I went to the first that would. If I complete this mission could I jump over the next tag missions and go on from there?
If not, I'll pay the 350k isk "fine" (current price of 3 tags) and call it a day.
Perhaps someone should put a health/wealth warning on these missions.

DON'T do cosmos missions... until ready. Thing about those is: 1. you can do them only once so if u failed or time ran up it's lost. 2. no consistent diffculty, you may get L2 mission then L4 then L1...
Also some rewards from cosmos missions are "keys" which used to get missions from other cosmos agents, so if u speak with an agent and don't have the "key" then you may lose access.
bottom line is Google > research > make sure u do it properly...
doing 2 cosmos agents on **** easy difficulty which most of it was 4 jump radios pizza missions I got some BPCS which I sold for almost 200 mill :P "What's worse than a foul-mouthed eight-year-old constantly claiming he's had relations with your mother? Be aware, some cosmos systems are camped by other players that will extort you of isk.
One tactic, is they scan down your mission site, come in, and start killing all the NPC's to finish the mission. Then when the "Mission critical" item drops, they steal it and warp off. Once they have it, your left with two options: Fail the mission or buy the item from them.
