With the last major Rubicon 1.2 patch it was almost impossible to get the patch applied. Finaly after switching between the eve client updater ane the repair tool several times and som in between restting my pc I managed to get it applied.
Now with the 1.3 patch the same drama. The Eve client starts downloading en at a random percentage it stops refusing to load another bit. The same with the repair tool. It analyzes, starts downloading and then freezes at a random percentages. I have been staring at this drama for almost 1 hour and 20 minutes now.
Is there a way to get this thing going again? |

Here's to hoping that someone who managed to install the patch doesn't have the launcher set to delete it after using and would export it for us |

What kind of set ups do people have that cause so many problems with the launcher and patches? I've never had a problem.

The repair tool managed to bypass the launcher and downloaded the new patch and installed it without issues. |

Patch downloaded and worked straight off.
Luckily for me, or I would have had to tell my eldest daughter how she has always been my 'number one daughter' to get her to do computer stuff for me.

yeah i get 100% of set 3 of 4 and it hangs. Ive had a number of problems with patches before but thats been over a total of 8 years. on multiple computers.

The problem is that the hosting network (HWCDN.net) has admitted to serious data center issues. It's on their website. So while some people have great pathways leading to the file, some of us don't, and get horrid download rates due to packet loss.
It has nothing to do with PC configs, ISPs or settings. It is downstream at the provider.
When running the Repair Tool, you can see the download rate. Currently, I am getting 14.78Kb/sec. |

Patch took about a min to download, applying the damn thing took almost 3 min.
No issues though, just felt like forever

Taht shows why it takes a while to download for some, but doesn't explain why people have so many "my entire install is dead!" issues. 9 time out of 10, those issues are caused by impatient people hammer buttons, running 15 launchers or crashing the launcher out in attempts to make it run better the 2nd time around.
Sometime my laptop has a bit of a tiff and refuses to patch at a reasonable rate, and my solution is leaving it to patch, which it eventually does and tada, no issues.

Last patch both the launcher and the repair tool got stuck and only a full install worked. Right now I'm at 72% download, so that gives me a 28% chance of failure. Wish me luck!

I'm using the launcher, and my manual rate calculation (based on noting the amount downloaded over several minutes) works out to the same (18.11 MB / 21:00 = 14 KB/s).

The patch downloaded and applied fine for one of my computers while the other it failed and It has taken me almost 30 minutes to get it working. I have resorted to restoring a previous version of the folder and applying the patch Manually. |
