OK, it may not be easy, but I am certain it will reduce alot of pointless lag.
Devs.... why not add a button on the market, escrow, people and places and evemail menus to fetch data, instead of the current fetching when the window is opened?
How many times have we as players waited for them to load, knowing that the part you wanted to get to was not even being loaded?
You open poeple and places with the places tab last selected and wait for it to load, when all you wanted was the buddies list? When I leave P&P I choose blocked players as there is nothing big to load. Why not let a load button let the initial, pointless load be skipped?
You get a corp mail and wait for ever for your Inbox to load.
You open the Escrow window and wait for courier to load, then choose escrow and let all of the world's escrows load, and finally choose station only escrows with a tiny load.
Same with the market.
Give us a button that lets us choose when to load the data :)
(Sorry if this is old hat, I looked 3 pages of threads and didnt see anything like this in the subject lines.)

An OPTION to load or not by default maybe. 99% of the time I want that page up, not delayed through having to constantly click "get data", "get data". It's annoying enough on the Journal.

Well mate you have a point but i dont like the idea of having to press a load button mabe if nothering loaded until you clicked on it. Like on the market you could look at all items but nothing would load until you selected it and the region best market price was replaced with average market price as this price doesnt change much it would load alot quicker you could see what is really rxpensive and what isnt then if you want to buy it you clik on the item in the index and find the actuall price.

It would really help regarding the missions window, especially escrow, together with some smart filtering options.
Open missions - choose courier, escrow or bounty - choose filters, load.
That'd be nice.

I want to look, if there is a cheap MWD I within my Range and I takes forever to load all different MWDs WITH their description.
A click-box to be checked or not for each module would be
good. and a check-all-button.
For example:
I want to know the prices of the 3 lowest techlevel MWDs.
I check the 3 boxes and hit get prices in range.
There could be a check-box too which you could do the search or what ever the old or the new way.

So...
A check box in the esc menu to
load last filter set
or
Do not load upon opening menu
And for those who choose the no load option, a button that initiates the data load. Good nuff, but...
If the server load reduction was significant, I would personally be happy to accept the hassle of a wait being default as a trade-off. Does anyone know if anything like this has been proposed? It seems probable that the answer is yes... what was resolved, if anything?

This are quite obvious optimalisations, if they're not done that's probably because excrow is not used that often to cause server lag and people rather wait that 15 seconds then submit a problem as a bug report.
But not loading useless data for 15 seconds isso much betted then doing so anyway :)

market refreshes everytime you enter a new SOLAR SYSTEM, even if its in the same REGION. Theres no need for this. I have a 5mbit (with 800kbit up) connectino and I still get a 5 second lag everytime I jump, if the market window is open or minimized (and I usually do have it open because space trucking is the best way to make money for me right now)

given an option on which windows to preload and the ones I don't want to have a load content button, I think that'd be great, it would reduce lag a lot and wouldn't be extremely hard to implement, difficult, but not that difficult.

Why does the market window have to reload every time I accidentally resize the darn thing? Talk about a pain!
