Does anyone have a definitive answer or any reliable info on illegal items?
1. Where is it beneficial to sell illegal items? Their illegal zones or the the opposite? 2. Are there NPC corps that have buy orders for illegal items? 3. What exactly is the rumor about some agents requesting illegal items? 4. What are the penalties for illegal items specifically, beyond what the descriptions say? 5. How does CONCORD exactly scan cargo and demand confiscation? 6. Is there a future in smuggling or drug trading?
thanks,

I'm no expert, but I can answer some of these:
1. When you run agent missions, you'll sometimes get "agent offers". Sometimes, these involve acquiring illegal items, and these are very lucrative if you can get the gear.
2. I've never seen any, but I haven't exactly searched. 3. As Q1 - totally true 4. You'll get the goods confiscated, fined, and lose standing. 5. Er... witchcraft? 6. I think you can make some money at it if you can get away with it, sure.
Hope this helps

How exactly does detection work? Is it just getting within x metres of a customs ship or what? Always wondered this...

I have a similiar question about illegal items. Iam wondereding about the fines you receive when you have been identified with XXX item in your cargo. In the item info you will get something like "400% of market value" as a fine but as these items arent in the market doesnt that mean 400% of 0 ? seems odd to me..
I have had experiances in the past of NPC's blowing me up even when i agree to their demands following illegal items in my cargo so im rather confused about contraband transport in general..
Any help with this and the op's issues will be appreciated
