I have 2 drones in my Caracal. I dont typically use them. Not because they are not usefull, because they are. I dont use them because they are a pain to work with. My main issues is that when I want them to return I will give the order.. Both drones will fly back to me one will usually enter the bay. The other usually stays about 1700meters away and wont dock. If i fly at them they will somtimes then dock but other times they seem to just maintain range at 1500~ or so.
Any tricks to get drones to dock? Right now its a big production just to get the little suckers back home so i can warp out. Lag maybe?

I often encounter a problem similar to this with my drones, they'll both head back to the ship, except one will return extremely slowly, something like 10m/s

Nah, its a random drone bug. It thinks its colliding with your ship when it isn't. One trick that works is to tell them to return & orbit, then scoop to drone bay. If that fails, approach the stuck drone. ---- EVE-Central.com | Obsidian Technologies - 0.0 Manufacturing, Defense and Logistics. We're hiring! Mail me |

I have found that this is a frequent problem with my T1 drones, but T2 drones RARELY do this to me......not sure why...

Greetings,
I did run into this problem once before. Since then I have been flying a Vexor with 5 drones and I always just have them return and orbit after a fight. Once I am sure all is clear I just scoop them to my drone bay. Sometimes it requires a little patience, but usually I am cruising to pickup the loot from killing something so I have the time. With the return and orbit I have never had a drone go disobedient on me.

Edited by: Drizit on 26/04/2006 16:28:03 I get it very rarely. I use Hornets most often and found that if you let them come back on their own, they usually do. If you tell them to come back, they are like kids and seem to deliberately take their time . They always come back but sometimes they don't use the microwarp to do it quickly so if you wait long enough, they will get there eventually.
If not, go fetch them and send them to their room
