I just crammed a Quad LiF Booster (525% 100MN MWD) onto my Ferox, set it up with an Overdrive Injector and two Nanos and hit 4004 m/s max (but only made it to 2300 m/s by the time the cap drained). What's the tightest anyone has fit? I'd love to hear stories about a 10 MN MWD on an Interceptor.

once a GM stuck a 100mn MWD on an interceptor
apparently he didnt have to warp for some of the shorter in-system distances ------------------- uhh.. what does this button do? |

I put 3x 100mn MWDS on my Megathron, with 8x Smartbombs, and charged at a scout 200km off the station with sbs blaring.
Hit 65km/sec IIRC...
Needless to say I didnt hit the intie. ---

Back in beta there weren't different sizes of MWDs--rather, the one module had fairly low fitting requirements so it could be put on any size ships. They also had a much higher speed boost percentage, and stacked like crazy (1000%*1000%*1000%*1000% that sort of thing). And, of course, that meant the cap use requirements were low as well.
On Armageddon Day (the very final day of beta) my buddy filled the midslots of a megathron with MWDs and hit them all.
I believe he was cruising at somewhere around 600,000km/s, but I'd have to ask him the exact figure. It was absurdly high. ------------------------------- -If you're going through Hell... Keep going.- |

you could fitt 8 mwds on a Scrop however by the time I joined they already implemented the cap penalty so that spoiled the fun _____________________________________________

Yea right To both your statements.
A 100MN MWD would give you about 100x the velocity of fitting a normal MWD. Back in the days when you could fit multiple MWD, a scorp with 7-8 MWDs would give you some 50000x the velocity of fitting a normal MWD. And the velocity you reached with that was still a long way from speed.
Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |

I did that in the beta just befor maxing out a apoc and runing all over minny space owning every ship in sight.

The way it works now is that a 100mn adds 50,000,000 KG to your ship, with the optimal weight (after MWD is active) for a 100mn MWD being 150,000,000 KG, the efficiency of a 100mn MWD on an interceptor would be aroun 350% (with skills)
I do know, however, that "back in the days" I fitted 3 MWD and 2 AB on a Dominix (that was as much as I could ACTIVATE), and in one burst I went about 250,000km or something equally silly New sig coming soonÖ Drone musing (MC-boards) |

My records before CCP change the fitting rules of AB and MWD was:
54km/sec with Maller. 158 km/sec with Raptor.
I used to pilot a crow that fly costantly at 21km/sec (firing 3 cruise missiles, but that's another tale....)

Edited by: Mortimer Zorg on 26/04/2006 10:33:12 back in the beta when cruises wore still the biggers i fitted my caldari cruise whit few mdws cant remember what it was but never mind that
well i was playing just around downtime i got disconnected when i was ins warp i ended REALLY REALLY FAR i made some caluclations and it would have taken about 6kk at max warp to get back to the sun :) goodthing the beta ended soon after that
and my max stable speed was about 2AU/s if i remember correcly you you just had to stard and drop out of warp few time and you would get after that a stable wap that did not use cap :)

MWD ravens of doom......
or a weird tactic we had was to fly at the target at the same speed as your torps. keep firing at them and build up a blob of missiles. as you pas teh target they get hit ny multiple volleys at the same time
poppage :)

I reckon you could still do that with torps and speed mods...

Cav ravens ?
good fun ships, utterly unfair and so forth but good fun.
it was essencially a pair of MWD's stuck on a Raven, one on autorepeat and one on manual, the really good ones could make "torp balls of doom" where your poor ship whould get something like 24 torpedo's hitting at the same time.
Curse Alliance had them first, and then it was nerfed.
