No after i see this i dont care how much was the left over Thanx Gunnie for sharing this. This really "lighten" things up i think, at least now i have the last piece of information what i wanted to know, the rest can remain mystery. My POV in this thread is pure interest in EVE history anyway, and good history allways have secrets

Nope. Just looking stupid and only making it worse with lousy, arrogant responses. Crayfish must be in season.
Indeed a flame based on truth/factual occurence like a stupid off-topic post lacking any humor/entertainment value in context has effect. Obviously. The type of people who go for pints after work and then do nothing but interject obsequiously about the boss as if he were there to suck up to, despite the fact that everyone around them is busy talking about the bird at the next table, will always have a difficult time fitting in, regardless of what the boss really thinks of them. Even in Eve.

Thank you Gunship.
It seems like the fund spent 2.4 billion dollars in 2 months. quite an accomplishment in those days.
One question though. When you say loot sales, do you mean the sale of the minerals or the sale of PvP loot?

your welcome
loot sale = PvP loot
PvP loot was sold in TS on auctions.
Minerals was sold on the CA forum in a "forum auction" add on.
and yes in those days a bill isk was a whole lot more than it is today.

GIVE ME MY MONEY BEEEECHESSSSS....
Such old news, but what a F'd situation I know all too well. I knew it would happen, I knew it was an issue and I remember specifically the person that spoke up to make this happen, a person we all trusted just like we trusted Foyle... and NO I am not talking about Xirt or Duke or Chow or anyone that was a core part of the decision making in CA.
But it's the past and something none of us have control over except one person. I haven't spoken to Foyle for months, out of game or in game.
Regardless Curse Alliance was the greatest military power in eve for a long time, our demise was our own doing. I would rebuild CA in a heartbeat with my old friends and allies.

I really can't believe that Shinra and VOTF are still on bad terms.
How are we expected to reform the Curse Alliance then?
And why the hell are there so many tiny Alliances?

Your memory is not serving you correctly, There was approx 4 bil in isk at the "end" and about 4-5 bil in minerals.

I have been reading this topic with great interest and I reckon if there is this huge supply of minerals hidden in the depths of space, then wouldn't it be better to invest it, into more iskies, 3 tril and turn into 6 tril. Think the amount of dreadnaughts and titans you can build with that.
You guys got to stop all this and everyone who was part of CA should hug and make up.

Ok, your havent been reading to well - lol
THERE ARE NO MINERALS IN SPACE THERE ARE NO MINERALS IN CURSE
They are gone, bye bye, moved out of curse and into empire a LONG time ago. I havent even played the game in about 6 months. I dont even see why this thread isnt locked yet, it has more then run its course, I guess the mods are suckers for a well beaten CA thread

Edited by: Clementina on 29/04/2006 04:11:12 Okay, so what I see here is that the Curse Alliance collected minerals as refinery tax for their battleship fund. Their battleship fund was started with 1 billion in seed money, and sustained with minerals and PvP loot. 2.4 million a month was spent for the battleship fund. There were auctions where members of the Curse Alliance would buy these minerals in large lots of 25k or 50k.
Foyle managed the CA mins, and couldn't give the authority over them away even while being accused of theft and financialy raping alliance mates. When the CA went down, VOTF, Shinra, and other corps left, none of them layed claim to any of the fund. The Dark Lord claims Foyle stole it.
The final take was 7.3 billion isk or somewhere around that. It would average around 5 billion isk, and never be above 10 billion isk. Also in the final take was 2,477,000 mega, 1,586,000 zyd, and some low-end.
It's gone now, Foyle had it as the leader of the CA, and later when she closed the CA down she took it to start FOE with. She also used it to Ruin the Dark Lord. Some corps might have gotten a share if they were in CA until the very end. but most of the minerals had been bought, and the rest were spent by Foyle doing what was mentioned above. There isn't two trillion isk worth of Zydrine. There aren't any cans with aformentioned trillions floating around in Detriod, any lag in systems there is just lag. Nor are there any mins in stations in Curse.
Two Questions though. If the battleship fund was funded by PvP loot, how much did these minerals matter in financing it? and How would the members who bought these minerals use them? would they consume them personally, or would they sell them for a greater markup on the Empire market?

There were auctions for loot held after ops, or fleet battles to help replace ships that were lost during said ops. The mins were auctioned to the corps in the alliance in a different manner. The members were free to do what they wanted with the minerals they purchases be it sell or comsume for personal use. ____________________________________ XirtamVotf on 25/04/2006 17:27:23 I created CA without Shinra or any of the corp. Edited by: Saladin on 30/04/2006 00:24:59 Well this brings back old memories. If I recall correctly from the council meetings, the figure was in the billions, and 5-7 sounds about right. Most of it did not get spent because so much time was consumed over arguing how to spend it.
I don't know of any x-CA corp that got its "cut" of the money. I do know that Lallante did raise the issue with Foyle but I have no idea if he was successful. I was on good terms with FOE for a while and only got elusive answers. Foyle was cryptic about the subject but had implied that the money was being spent to fund a war MC was waging on Imperium.
The threats and insults that Imperium members leveled against her would explain why she hired MC. However, I do wish that the money would have not been comandeered in such manner given the level of responsibility she was entrusted with.
On a side note, I will say that it is amazing that players did not get banned permanantly for the content of the eve-mails they bombarded her with, which routinely included insults of the worst kind and repeated RL threats. I can only hope with swelling player suscriptions and this expansion into China, CCP can now afford to protect players against in game harassment. ----

Well I dont really care either way but those numbers must be way off. Foyle spent at least 15bill while she was in FoE. Im absolutly positive there is no way she pulled in that much from owning d7-zac and I'm even more sure she didnt mine it herself. So I think the votf guys are probably right on this one. However this was a long time ago and foyle is gone. So it's probably best if everyone gets over it. |

foyle didnt spend it all on FOE, that is for sure. from what i know, every once ina while she'd have the russians bring an alotted amount back to empire to help fund the alliance. in the last days of FOE her, the alliance, and all but a select few members had gone totally bankrupt from fighting all of the north and half the south.
so if the ca bank is infact the wild numbers some ppl are throwing around then most wasnt spent on FOE, because id guess she spent around 6-10bil on the alliance, and that figure includes the revenue from the vale and tribute refineries.
back to wow, can you say field marshal? hurray \o/
