This thread has been moved to Missions & Complexes as that is more appropriate place to discus this topic. If you want to propose a change in game mechanics (in this case the variety of storyline missions) I would suggest to write a well worded proposal and post it in the Features & Ideas Discussion part of the forum.
Good luck!

Though less lucrative. Since you get the large faction jump at the end even if just in fleet with the actual character. This won't work since the standings from the last mission can not be shared (Except for a bug that allowed it to share once for me). But the 12.5% from the Caldari epic arc will get you there a lot quicker than 16 missions and 1.01% from Mat For War.

It sucks that you got the same one 17 times in a row but that's the joy of "random". If they were in a set order this would not happen but that wouldn't be any fun. Many people are genuinely trying to help and you'll only attract trolls by being so defensive in your replies.
I wish CCP would add more content but not because I think Eve is a PVP game. More missions would make the ISK grind less painful. The PVE content is great for funding PVP and subscription if you don't have a ton of RL money. I would have to cut PVP losses and definitely wouldn't be able to afford multiple accounts if I was funding with real money.

The beauty of randomness :)
Anyway, I would support the removal of NON-Security crapmissions as Storylines. Give as actual storyLINES (i.e. CHAINS of missions for them, with a good reward and much more Standing gain instead).
As someone who had to grind lv 1's to get back from -10 to -5, I know how it feels to chain missions to get a terribly bad storyline with allmost no standing gain at all, just because it's a distribution SL.. Thanks for that, CCP... |

Given the amount of potential storylines, getting that one 17 times in a row is pretty good evidence that it's weighted higher than the others. I don't know why everyone is crapping on that point. |

I suspect part of the issue is that there isn't one materials for war in the storyline mission bucket but 5 - if you look at what standing you get there are slight differences depending on which implant is being given as the reward, thus there are 5 different versions.
As for increasing the reward thats something entirely in the hands of players - the standing reward is based on how long it takes a mission to be completed - if everyone accepted the mission then waited 4 hours (for example) before handing it in people would see the standing gain increase.
Of course this will rely on everyone doing it so realistically it isn't going to happen. |

You're both right and wrong - you have roughly 15 minutes to complete it _if you want to get the bonus_ - otherwise you have the usual up to 7 days you get with any mission.
The reason the time to get the bonus is so short is the same reason the bonus and standing gain is so poor - everyone simply buys the kernite, accepts the mission, completes the mission all in the space of a few minutes.
I don't know if you remember but the reverse was the case when Dread Pirate Scarlet was introduced - initially the bonus and time wasn't on a par with other missions that take a similar length of time, as more people ran it the time for the bonus increased.
As far as I know the maximum a bonus time can get to is 6 hours.
Incidently the same effect is why the datacentre missions have a lot less effect nowadays than they used to - everyone just buys the tags and hands them in immediately. |

There's two different parties here;
Group 1 likes to complete the mission and get the 20 mil implant, nothing better than a instant 20 mil ISK.
Group 2 hates taking the time to do 16 missions only to get a miniscule 1.08% standings bump, and can care less about the 20 mil ISK.

YangTze Quan wrote: In fact, why is this Storyline mission given to Combat missioners at all? You either have to MINE the ore for the agent or go buy the ore and TRANSPORT it to the agent. That sounds like it should be a Storyline offered to a person running MINING missions or Distribution agents to me.
I can honestly say I've never had to do either of these things to successfully complete this mission.
sounds like a lot of heartache for a measely 2-run navy mega bpc. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"
Never forget. |
