okay, my third mission in the game is called "Worlds Collide." My tip from my agent is as follows: "...and I'm told only frigates can activate the first gate. Good luck."
Well I'm in a frigate but keep getting podded everytime I make a dash for the second gate. Soon as I warp in I get pounded immediately by a gang of NPCs! I've not been playing the game all that long, but here is my spec on my Rifter: 3x250mm light scout artillery, 1x rocket launcher, 1x named gyro, 1x named shield booster, 2x PD Units.
Can anyone give me some advice? This seems very tough for a new player like me!

My advice is do a little research before posting a new thread. Maybe start by scrolling down the page to find:

Destroyers can also do level 1 'Worlds Collides'. Have a look on this section for lots of hints and tips on how to do it, and always be prepared to lose ships doing so!

I've done this mission 3 times, all of them in a destroyer. Keep in mind that one of the ancient jumpgates is easier than the other and both lead to the same final area.
In my case, the angels were always easier and fewer than the guristas

The first thing I would suggest is get a decent 1 MN afterburner as that is more important in getting to the second gate than any other mod in your mids.
The other thing I can suggest is when you first warp in, typically the easier gate appears on the left. By this I mean one gate (typically the one on the right) dumps you right in the middle of npcs, while the other (typically the one on the left) drops you farther away from the npcs. The afterburner will get you to the second gate pretty quick as long as you don't hang around to fight anything, then you will be in the last room which is a cakewalk for your ships weapons.
