I'm doing an agent mission. The first time I try it, I nearly get my butt kicked. However, the journal entry mission detail said the mission objective was completed. So I head back to the drop off location to claim my reward. I get back to the base and am told I don't have the required item! I fly back to the encounter point to see if I missed something and long story short I've lost 5mil isk, 3 ships and 2 days play!! This morning I outfit a fourth ship because it's personal now and go to the encounter point to find NOTHING there!!!!! Journal says I have til May 3rd to complete the mission. What's going on?

If you don't loot the mission objective and leave the system through logging out, docking or a gate you have no chance to finish the mission any longer unless you come back in time if you have a bookmark to the site.
Cans pop after 2h and some change. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

Edited by: Irad Lac on 28/04/2006 12:14:26 I'm hearing what you are saying. However, I left the system numerous times after I got my butt kicked to a pod. I logged. This went on for two days. The encounter point is still available. I go to the encounter area and there's nothing there. The missions objectives were met, supposedly, because the journal entry stated as such. It's rather frustrating to a noob who's trying the game out for a month.
Sowell. I'd still like to finish the mission and at least get my lps.

The finished objectives is the problem. A mission will respawn after DT (some also on a counter), but once you have met the (kill)objectives the mission will not respawn. The can with the item you need will be gone after 1 or 2 hours. So you probably killed everything, logged off or at least didn't loot the can within 2 hours. The mission will not respawn because of the met objectives, so you will not be able to finish this mission. You can try to report this ingame and ask the GM's to reset the mission (you will have to kill all the rats again though)

Another little question... I was doing a number of missions for this same agent yawning. The missions were simplistic. The change in this mission was rather drastic. I was hoping for more of a challenge, but this was and is a slaughter. Is this difference in mission difficulty typical? How can I tell what level a mission is?
Depends on the mission. You can find several sites which explains the mission (haven't done them in a few months so i can't give you any :) )

Killing the rats was not listed as an objective. It was a rescue mission. I didn't kill all the rats as I was getting pounded. I approached the canister, tried opening it, received some quick message before the mission window popped up and showed objective completed and I warped out. I got back to the station and was told I didn't have the item. I've been able to return to the encounter point for the last two days and try to 'complete' the mission. Now I can't. Bummer about not being able to complete it. Hope my standing doesn't suffer too much.

Edited by: Mr Friendly on 29/04/2006 02:56:59 A) include the name of the mission in question... it's easier for us to help you...
B) always read the details of the mission briefing as you can run into this problem again if you don't note the exact details of the 'completion requirement'. Personally, I ignore the 'objective completed' and verify the details myself...
C) I'm guessing here, but... I think you have a mission where you need to open up a spawn container and loot the special contents (not a loot can dropped by killing NPC's).This can can only be opened if all of the 'defending' npcs are killed...if so, this should respawn with the rest of the NPC's/items after DT. If it doesn't, or if your mission requirements were in a loot can that blew up after an hour or so, petition and get a GM to reset the mission for you (as previously suggested).

Thanks for the response. I posted the name of the mission in a follow up msg. It is Worlds Collide. I thought I got the contents of the mission can as when I opened it, the mission description popped up saying the Mission Objective was completed while the canister window disappeared. I most likely did not get the contents since they were not in my cargo bay.
Does DT stand for down time?
Not sure how to petition. I'll likely just forget the mission if I can't get to it tomorrow.

The 'survivors' are in a herion ship sitting there, and it acts as a container, it's at the end of both of the two deadspace's.

Edited by: pang shipang on 30/04/2006 15:03:50 Petition it. A DT has "removed" it. I had the same problem with a "Worlds collide" on lvl 4 that disappered after a DT. The GM had to reset the agent.
DT = Down Time.
and sorry about posting with the wrong charcter.
