Is there any particular reason a probe launcher shouldn't autocycle until it's deployed as many probes as you can control? I've been struggling but I can't think of a good reason for making us click on the launcher for every probe launch - it'd still take the same time, you'd just have less carpal tunnel from spamming the button. One of those little things that would make the game a lot more convenient without any adverse gameplay effects. |

Well I tend to chuck out 1 for an initial scan to see if anything is in system to scan.
Also I prefer to use 6 probes as opposed to the full maximum for ease of use in a 3d cross, adding more only for those more difficult sites if required.
As a result I personally wouldnt want to chuck out all probes when they are always wanted.
So unless there is a way of configuring useage to still chuck out 1 or a prefered number of probes pre-determined by the user, i wouldn't want this feature. |

If you only want one out, just click it twice, like any other mod, and it'll only cycle once - as for the 6 probes you can just leave two on top of each other and keep the cross. In general I think the aggravation saved would outweigh the few times when I only want a couple probes out. |

Could work, seems messy to me. Dont like mess.
Especially when you'd need to consider preferences along the spectrum of numbers different to my own personal preference.
Just don't fancy being annoyed by having to fiddle extra probes initially in a scan I dont want to have to use I guess. As that annoyance I might find more than the fact I might have to click a mod a few times.
Please consider user ease for this as requested, as since I understand this is the intended purpose of the post. |

Thing is, hitting click again to stop the launcher at the desired number of probes is two clicks for any number of probes - whereas it'd be six for six probes with the current system. You just watch the launcher, click it after it's cycled six times, done, you've got your only six probes. |

Hell, with guns you get the option to turn autocycling on and off - just make them function like that, give you the option to manually cycle or not, everyone's happy. |

"Kerching", optional autocycling process seems to work for me. |

Yeah, this is what I was about to say. Make it possible to turn autorepeat off, just like other launchers. Heck, default it to off, so that you don't notice the difference unless you want to. Sounds fine to me. |

default autorepeat off, allow turning it on (i actually thought it worked that way until now???)
i could live with that
but i see no point, since most ppl would still have it off because you really really use max amount of probes very rarely. |
