Atrons are cheap and easy to fly. I've been flying them as an interceptor catcher in this configuration.
Ship (15k isk) High: 2 light electron (16k) Med: MWD (40k), 7.5k scram (25k) Low: 2xnano fibers (14k)
Looking at a grand total of 110k per ship, plus ammo and your pod if you get PK'd (which is the only good thing about a newbie). This is ideally something to snag ships, of course, and not to fight long term. It's definately short on mid slots though, but if you have a bunch cause they're cheap... Any thoughts?

looks nice and economical. A better choice of T1 frig might be the rifter. It has 3 (all important) mid slots so you can fit MWD, scrambler, and a web (or even 2 scramblers). And since it is a T1 minmatar frig it is fast and cheap.

I would agree w/ this , but u may need a cap power relay if u have low cap skillz.

No cap relay needed... The MWD is only used to approach... And if you're going for tackling then you're not tanking and the repper is only for repairing after battle if your armor has taken damage so you can keep it offline and switch the MAPC for a nano to give you some more speed... Actually i don't even think that the MAPC is needed in the first place unless you're fitting some heavy guns which again would be useless since you're a tackler and don't need to deal much damage anyways...
Sry for taking this thread off the track further than it was

Tackling Atron for fleetbattles:
Hi: 2x small Ions or 2x small NOS depending on your capskills
Mid: Named MWD, 2 points scrambler
Low: 2x Nanos
With decent skills you will be able to run the MWD nonstop and (depending on your skills and if you fit NOS) the scram too. My Atron will go over 3km/s with this but won't be able to pack much of a punch. It will however be very hard to hit when it orbits (and scrambles) the target at a close range.

Let's see
MWD - Micro Warp Drive MAPC - Micro Auxilary Power Core PDU - Power Diagnostic System (Don't ask why, just trust us...)

I switch over to my atron to beat lvl 1 world's collide missions since it gets the job done much faster than my normal destroyer. Can beat worlds collide mission in about 2 minutes if you skip all the npcs and just burn towards each objective.
High: 2 75mm rails I mid: Afterburner I, Civilian shield booster low: Civilian armor rep, Nano I.
Goes extremely fast, and is so small that not much will hit you in my experience. booster/rep are mostly just in case, but i never have used them yet. Rarely drop below 70% shield and the entire setup is pennies to put together. Lot of fun to fly too. |

They used to be called 'Power Diagnostic Unit', hence why everyone uses the abbreviation PDU. Same goed for Ballistic Control Systems, or BCU in popular speech.
