I found some 0.0 systems that have sentry guns in them.
What the hell? Do they open fire for aggression?

Erm, systems work on a floating number systems that rounds, those systems arent really 0.0, anywhere from .499999999 to .0000000001 (those are exact numbers to :D eve is on 10 digits)

If it has a real name, and isn't one of a few special systems, it's not true 0.0.

there are a few named true 0.0 systems (serpentis prime for example), but they are few and far between. the easiest way of thinking about it is: if its empire sovereignty, there will be sentry guns.

I'm fairly sure I've seen some stations in true 0.0 with their own sentry guns. I'm not sure if they work the same as normal sentry guns, or just fire at people who attack that faction's ships.

the proper 0.0 sentries are station only, if you attack the station they attack you. you can kill anything else within their range happily enough
edit for clarity: the usual named system (not the random letter/number thing) have sentries on gate and will attack you if you engage
