I hope this is the best place for this question but, I got blown up during an incursion (was missioning stupidly...yes I am that idiotic) and lost my Omen. Bought back to where I was then realized...the the hell? I could have moved up! But to be honest I am inexperienced enough not to know where to go from here.
How do I figure this out? How do I look at my skills and determine what to buy? Sorry to sound like a fool, but one needs to learn somewhere and the sandbox is a wee bit too large for me to "get it" all.
Hopefully there is a patient soul out there willing to give me a bit of advice.
Thanks!

If you get your API Key there are 2 Programs you can download.
EFT: This will give you the stats of your ships and the modules you can use. Since it does not auto update you have to ajust your skills as you train them. You can also ajust them to see what you want to train.
EVEMon. EVEMon is a Training Planner that will tell you how much time it takes to train each skill allowing you to make plans. You can add the completed plans to EFT to see what stats your ship has. It will also show what skill implants and atributes will do for your training time.

Oh cool - I do have EVEMon...guess I did not realize it was that robust. Will look into that. Thank you! |

EveHQ is pretty good it seems. I have just started using it after years of EFT and EveMon. HQ combines features of both. Works pretty well so far.
And I am no Amarr expert, but wouldnt the arbitrator be a better level 2 missioning boat? I guess it depends on where you skills are...
Ithink the normal amarr progression after cruisers is - Harbibger for lrvrl 3 and Geddons for level 4. |

Flown Amarr ships for missioning and have to agree with the above - that Arbitrator is good and then move on to the Harbinger - I found it great fun for Lvl 3's. I switched to a Drake and then Raven (for 3's and 4') the Drake is very 'efficient' but very boring after a while. Was very pleased I had some good gunnery skills as when I moved up to a Nightmare it was a bit more fun again doing IMHO. Important point is that the Amarr 'boats' and lasers do best in Amarr space (vs Sansha and Blood Raiders) due to the resists the rats have. If you are missioning outside Amarr space you may prefer a race that can switch damage type - eg minmatar.
Hope that helps |

dont ever bother with the omen, it has horrible fitting, and the NPC TD will prevent you from saving yourself, the arbitrator is much better as drones can kill everything as long as you have all the aggro. also loot and salvage everything, it isn't much income but for a newbie it is alot of income |
