Ok I'v been in the game comming up for two months now and was thinking of doing some pvp for fun and to gain some experiance. Obviously I'm not very skilled so I'm gona lose my ship more often than not. So I was woundering if anybody could give me some cheap setups for caldari frigates and cruisers. I can also fly armarr and gallente frigates.

i STILL roll my old merlin sometimes.
Merlin ftw. Ive killed countless caracals and a few other cruisers in it, and most inty's wont hold up to her either..
Having the bp for a merlin has paid off as well...

Edited by: Seth Avaar on 01/05/2006 15:59:44 A friend of mine and myself recently had our first PvP experience. We got hold of a very basic frigate and fitted it with basic equiptment. Like yourself, we believed we would lose a few ships..
This is an extremely cheap layout. So if you lose a few ships you can easily get your money back by spending a few minutes on rat hunting. Anyway here is the layout I used
Incursus - Gallente Frigate III
HIGH: 2x Light Ion Blaster I (If you can use Neutron, please do so) 1x Small Nosferatu I
MED: 1x 1mn Afterburner 1x Webifier I 1x Warp Scrambler I
LOW: 1x Small Armor Repairer I 1x 50mm Armor Plate
To our big surprise we didnt lose a single ship. We killed a few cruisers and some frigates. We didn't take our chance on an interceptor, but we did learn alot for that small amount of isk.
Hope this helps

try a punisher out. it has a nice resistance bonus depending on level researched.
(3) 200mm proj, sm nos mwd, scrambler 200mm plate, damage mod, and whatever else will fit.

Arbitrator is pretty good, especially against turret users. The effectiveness of Curse should tell you a thing or two about its t1 version.

cruisers: blackbird, celestis frigs: trsistan, rifter, merlin, incursus, maulus, kestrel, inquisitor, punisher ...to name the cheapest pvp stuff
all of em are sweet ships. most of em work in groups of 2-3 players especially good. maulus/celestis for example damps everything down to a targeting range of 5 km. blackbird is the #1 ecm platform for small gangs. incursus is a deadly blaster shipy at closerange. tristan and merlin are very versatile due to their slot layouts. inquisitor and kestrel work as a sweet missle boat. rifter pwns em all

Look on the ingame channels for the market and post a request there if you chose the right channel you are sure to get plenty of starship manufactures viw agains ech other for the lowest price. Top tip go for bulk buying say 10-100 frigates should amke you very atractive and you could get a discount of some sort.

Edited by: Nebuli on 01/05/2006 22:33:48 If going as 2 or more frigs always take a Griffin along, 1 125mm rail, 2 standard launchers, 4 ecm racials, one of each, then low I think small armour rep.
I have all max fitting skills though so might not fit if you dont, but keap mids/low, highs you can change as needed as youre not realy their for damage, just for target jamming.
Oh yeah drone bay stick a small armour repair drone in their to help repair any frigs in the gang after the battle, or during I guess.
