I don`t see your problem, I know some older Eve players (50+)
However, should you want to join my Corp please speak to me, or just apply (no ageism there!!!)

Maybe we should make this thread the being-close-to-50 thread? I'm 47 since early this year .
On our webpage (you find it when you click on the signature) you will even find a picture of a 47 year old...

My corp has an age limit of 25 years old. Check us out.

Most of our members are over 30, and we have some that are in their 60's. Average is age is around 32

TOG Eve is the way to go. 25+ is a pre-requisite. A group of older, mature gamers. VERY cool indeed.

Yes there are plenty of Mature people playing eve.
I myself am 30, we (IXC) have mature people in our corp ranging over 40 :)

Ha Im feeling so spry as a creep up on 33.
Our officers and those in our sister corp all originate from the Triassic period though. I want to say the avg age is maybe 53ish

Quite a few corps out there are made up of ..... more experienced players in the game of life.
Eve seems to be a game that draws a mature crowd - probably the depth of the game, and the way that thinking and planning can make such a major difference.
I know we have several members over 50, and almost no members <20. Not that we don't allow them - it's not the age that matters to us, but maturity, and the ability to have a good time while knowing not to let it get too far out of control.
In the end though mate, it's a game where you're allowed to play a role, so more than anywhere's else, you're only as old as you feel :D

Our corp members average is 30-35, with our officer core being 35-49.

I'm pretty sure that I am the oldest in our Corp at 52, but we have many mature players, and quite a few very deadly kids. Now as soon as I can find someone to get my walker, retrieve my teeth from the overnight bath, drain my dribble cup, and change this nappy, I'm going out to shoot someone.

Well, since all of the geezers are checking in  I'll join in with 47.
I suspect that because of its complexity Eve probably skews higher in age than most MMORPGs.
There was an interesting article in the Atlanta Journal yesterday (Atlanta, Georgia newspaper) on what they called "grey gamers"; gamers older than the typical teenager stereotype. It said that the average gamer is now over 30 and included an interview with Richard Garriot which said that the "older" gamers now represent enough of the player-base that companies are starting to market towards them.
Oh yeah... "Hey, you kids! Get offa my LAN!"
