I'm just wondering if there's any missions for any npc corps that will help me out in the future with my mining career? Such as any corporations that a good standing with will help me out in the future etc... I need something to do while I'm going through the learning skill grind :P

Plan where you expect to do most of your mining and where you will be refining it, then start working with that corporation because a higher standing with them will give you better refines.

Problem is that I really have no way of knowing even an aproximate location of where I'll be setting up shop down the road. Is there a wide spread corp that would give me a good range of stations to refine at?

Faction standing impacts all corps under the faction in question. If you work in caldari, try to get caldari up. If gallente....well, etc.

At a corp standing of 6.67 from the station owners to you you stop handing over a part of the minerals to them.

That's true when it comes to standing allowing use of agents; but it is NOT true when it comes to "standing gives discount on refining costs." My Gallente standing of +9.00 gives me a discount of jack-squat at Garoun Bank stations.

XYZ Navy is always a good one. Of course, working for them will get you mostly kill missions, and if you are setting up to be a miner type, they may not suit you.
If you at least know which AREA you're going to be based in, you can check the appropriate empire's native corporations and look for one which is "huge."
