well..it never went to me...even though i posted just before 21-00 gmt by teletext....it showed up late on auction.
But as the Auction rules stood...would be Brother Benthor who won...unless you count your saying 2 minutes left at 8 seconds to nine as somesort of ruling...even then it would be highly irregular.
So Brother Benthor should be,and is the winner....
BTW Benthor...have you done as asked in the auction post and contacted Viper in game?Think he won't set ecrow until you confirm.
Hope this gets sorted amicably

then i guess he escrowed to "AmarrTrader Alt" already convoed him and he said the escrow is gone... nice way to start a first time auction ... breaking his own rules for greedness.

From what I can see Pascale Guyon is the winner with a bid of 45m. The timestamps on these forums are GMT, so how can a 9PM GMT auction end at 20.00? Stop mixing up your GMT with your BST.

The op clearly meant BST...and we in Britain count our time BST or otherwise as GMT....plus,if you had studied things, the seller said 2 minutes to go before the 20.00 Eve-Time cut-off...thus implying the Auction was ending at 20.00 Eve....or 21.00 BST/GMT.

Eve Time = GMT GMT does not have daylight savings. England does. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/
Great Britian is 1 hour ahead of GMT during daylight savings.

This is why all auctioneers should use Eve-time as their time unit.

Clearly? When he said GMT in the OP? Whilst I agree with the 2 minutes to go part, the terms of the auction are in the original post, not whether the dude said 2 minutes or an hour and 2 minutes. Whatever. Perhaps there should be some clarification over what should constitute auction end timezones, as someone else suggested here. I doubt everyone reading this even knows what BST is.

BST = British Summer Time, just like in portugal :) we got +1 hour, changed last month or so... even though i guided my self by in-game time since its GMT and even though he didnt follow that rule either ...even worst, after breaking is own time rules, the player he gave the ESCROW too, was not the first 40mil BIDDER ...

Fair enough, although AFAIK, Portugal is now 2 hours ahead of GMT (correct me if i'm wrong). I'm not arguing over the fact that someone got the escrow who shouldnt, more that people use everyday terms without actually knowing what they mean.

Edit: You may note I wasnt even a bidder.
Portugal has exactly the same time as brit now and its called DST (day saving time) not BST (this is for ego british :P hihiih *joking* it should be PST :D Portugal Summer Time), we both entered Summer time in the exact same time :) so +1 from GMT. following GMT the auction was miss leaded, even afte the player posted "(...) 2 minutes left (...)" so ppl had no confusion about when it was going to end, he broke the rules and gave to the wrong player... he apologised to me after i convoed him, as i told him this was not the best way to start a First Action... and in a RL Auction House after "1, 2, 3 Sold" giving to another buyer will not do.. and Apologys will do no good.
ps: i know u are not a bidder :) but this is a comunity and all comments are welcome

I agree, perhaps its time to stop bumping this dead thread. I do think there should still be a set agreed timezone (like evetime f.ex) for all auctions, but this is probably for the market discussions section rather than sell orders.
Take care all, thanks for your time. Jaegs x
