hi all, you guys experiencing this phenomena, while out hunting my weapons getting randomly stuck... just couple of minutes ago 2 of my 250mm were down, couldn't shoot them anymore.
it was solved after a relog...
only thing is that you can't really relog during a fight so its a pain.
just asking if you guys are having the same probs... thanks

Yes, this happened to me last night with one of my 250mm too. I had to relog as well.
On the other hand, I wouldn't mind it so much if it had been one of my 425mm. That would have saved me a ton of wasted ammo, since I can't seem to hit consistently enough to make a difference. __________________________________________________

Happend to me on a missile launcher. Relog cured that. Then it happend on a 250, relog cured that. Then I found Cao Cao and his buddies in P3EN, didn't think to try them cos i was running to fast.

I also had this problem with 250mm Rails--other weapons so far I haven't seen the same behavior.

just happened again with one of my Heavy Beams... i think its not only 250mm's :(

Not sure if he found out himself or someone told him, but a corpmate of mine told me yesterday that apparently it happens when you click the weapon to activate it. If you happen to drag the cursor just a little when you click the weapon icon, the weapon gets stuck. Solution for now is to use your F keys. F1, F2, F3 and so on. Chained a 5 spawn of Marauders last night for 2 hours straight and had no weapons freeze. Ya Hya Chouhada!!! |

The 250 mm rails seem to be a common thread here. I have 2 mounted to my thorax and I have 3 lasers as well (1 med, 2 small). The other day when I had all five weapons firing the lasers (all 3) were stuck on after the npc kills were completed. They wouldn't shut off.
I could stop the 250's but not the lasers, no matter what I tried. I had to warp out to get the weapons to shut down.
I could understand dragging one, maybe two weapons when I turned them on, but the chances of quick-clicking three lasers and dragging all three as I clicked is pretty remote, and I don't hold down the mouse key when I do a rapid start to all five guns.

I'll experiment with the 250 rails on chaos to try and reproduce the problem for logging, but it would be very useful if you could submit a bug report with a log of this behaviour.

This was reported on Chaos 2 days before it was put in production by me and another person. Logs and detailed description was provided.
It does it on 250, dual250, and 425 rails for sure. (I dont us anything but hybrid.) Also, dragging ammo to the cargo hold and loading the ammo into the gun causes this. (Icon goes silver and does not fire anymore.)

This happens with beam weapons, both medium and large size. The trigger is the client/GUI thinking you want to drag the ammo. or frequency crystal out of one gun and into another, I think.
Workaround: Use F1 through F8 to activate/deactivate weapons.. no more sticky!

It happened to me also on Focused Medium Pulse lasers and 650mm artilleries.
it seems to happen if you wish to deactivate the weapon while it's firing at a target so you can select on a new one.

I dont think it's the dragging that's causing the problem... why? ... becuase I use the F-Keys and never use the mouse to fire the weapons.
Yesterday my Tachyons locked (red marked) while shooting a Drug Baron... the guns carried on firing but were not using any cap... and the Drug Baron died. But once the firing stopped it was impossible to fire the Tachys after that.
Relog did fix it but what if you are in the middle of a firefight and are webbed and warp scrambled... can be a right pain in the old backside.  -------------------------------------------

If this was logged and detailed by ventran Halleck in chaos why was is looked over and passed along to tranquility?
Why was this not answered for, Why was it not checked, Why is there no communication from chaos testers to the DEVS, Who is the middleman resposible for relaying these kinds of things?
This should be cut and dry....On the known bugs page why do they keep it down to a minimum everyone knows all the bugs why do they try and cover up the truth?

this seems to be affecting most modules...
Last night I was fighting 4 30K Sansha's, and 3 of my 6 Heavy Neutron Blasters jammed along with my MWD and BOTH my large shield boosters...

happenens also on 1200mm artilleries. Btw switching to fullscreen/window mode fixes it.

happend to me with 3 of my 250 scouts and also my backup gun heavy neutron blaster no fun when u fighting 5 wreckers shooting missiles at you

I made a separate thread somewhere about locked weapons....my weapons dont continue firing however they jus lock up :\
