There will be 5 filled boxes instead of 4 You didn't say which bs lvl 5, but since you're talking about ballistic controls I assume that you're a raven pilot. Lvl 5 is not a waste of sp on those imo.

Otherwise, for the rest of the BS, the extra dps probably won't make enough of a difference to win fights you would've otherwise lost.

Not the ones that you would have decisively lost, but the ones where you're fighting a nearly even matched opponent, that extra 5-11% dps difference can be just the edge you needed.
