There's one thing I don't understand about attributes. I downloaded my character's file in xml from this site and inside is stored all base attributes, enhancers and skills. My base attributes are:
Int 12 Mem 8 Per 6 Wil 6 Cha 7
I have all enhancers +1 and for the skills:
Analytical Mind 4 Instant Recall 5 & Eidetic Memory 4 = 9 Spatial Awareness 4 Iron Will 3 Empathy 2
So if I sum it all: Int: 12 + 1 + 4 = 17 Mem: 8 + 1 + 9 = 18 Per: 6 + 1 + 4 = 11 Wil: 6 + 1 + 3 = 10 Cha: 7 + 1 + 2 = 10
Perception, Willpower and Charisma are ok but in game, for Intelligence and Charisma, I have 18 and 19. Where do these bonuses come from???

Every level of Learning adds 2% to your attribute total (percentage applied after the other skills that increase an attribute).
That 2% bonus per Learning level can push you up an extra point in an attribute.

Edited by: Cenelia on 05/05/2006 17:08:33 the number shown are rounded down. From what you're saying here I assume you ahve learning at level3 or 4, wich means 6 or 8% increased abilities. For int and memory you get more then 1 point this way(17*1.06=18.02, so a 1.02 point increase) but your perception doesnt get a whole point bonus(11*1.06=11.66) But for training time calculations the exact value is used, so that 0.66 increase in perception will still help speed training time up.
hth
edit: I ahte these forums, posted with alt again. no matter how often I set "use as default character" to my main, it never sticks x.x

I do have Learning 4. I thought the learning bonus was only used in training time calculation, not directly in attributes. Thanks for the info.

thats how learning is used in training time calculations as increasing your attribute decreases the amount of time required to train a skill. You will notice you skip the attribute 12 and 21 if you have learning at lvl5 . -Fate is what you make of it. -Make your own fate using T2 items produced by The Fated MISSILES AND AMMO FOR ALL |
