But on another note, We got cyclone as a shield tanker, this ship is obviously (tier 2) going to be a more damaging one. There's never enough midslot for tackling and tanking and it would just plain 'suck'.

Shield tanking pretty much equals doing more damage, assuming the same guns.
Armor tanking = tackling
Shield tanking = damage mods
Oh and my cyclone tackles happily. Oh noes i haven't got a web. Well Ac's track like crazy anyway...

My cyclones killed a fair few things. So has my shield tanked tempest.
Obviously i'll defer to your judgement and agree shield tanked ships ever kill anything ... Hey on an unrelated subject , how many nerf raven threads have we had now ? And theres a lot of vagabond pilots who might disagree with armor tanking being the best option.

Well I wont mind it either way, 8/6/4 or 8/4/6 sounds great to me.
What I'm more interested in is the hi slots and the bonuses.

by definition your web-less cyclone cant tackle. just fyi.
if i have to train to use such a sexy ship id rather it was something thats actually capable of tanking and controlling range at the same time, kthnx. and brutix (armor tanked) >>>> cyclone.

No... I have bested a fully tanked t2 blaster bruitix with my cyclone. I dictated the whole fight on HIS terms (2km fight). Yep... I was shield tanking too.

Whats the obsession with having to web and scramble for a target to be considered 'tackled'. Webbing is nice, but for AC's its REALLY not needed. Outside 10km , your pushing your luck shooting at all. Inside 10km notthing of equal size is going to beat the tracking.
At the last test i did in the cyclone, (fitted at the moment t1 aside from booster II and gyro II's) beat my mates t2 pulse proph with conflag. We were fighting at his optimal. Both of us were using proper PvP set-ups with scrammers etc, not pure tanking.

I get plenty of kills without needing interdiction modules.

You + Prey = traget escaping, when you=webed and prey=not webed. Obviously that's not always the case especially with 20K scram. The point is sometimes webing is about about tracking, but it's always about keeping control of the engagement range.
