That flash movie was funny and quite original.
I like them already...

Is the member limit there to avoid corporations joining eachother and becoming too powerful in the universe?

watched the silly little video, and the first thing that comes to mind?
Competent management FTW!
Communication. Delegation. a corporation helping their members develop to not be wholely dependant on the corp, and actually function as players rather than as members of a hive.
none of the problems mentioned are outside the means already provided in the game.
no reason it should be easy to manage that many people.
(and I thought if you ganged with a person whos in a war you can fight with them?
So basicly you want it to be difficult to have many members, for no good reason? I think it should be up to the corp to decide what they want to be and how they want to work together - not the game.

really not being contrary for the sake of contraryness.... I just don't see the need. it SHOULD be a challenge of leadership and management to keep a handle on that many people.
Its a challenge enough just with one corp let alone 2 or more. Being a director in goonfleet is almost like a full time job, do you know how many convos and evemails they get and how many people and issues they need to deal with on a daily basis? Managing 2,000 players, many of who have only been playing for a few months, is a huge task.
I know how companies usually handle this.

That's the price you've chosen to pay, though. CCP have higher priorities and you have the alliance system.
Come on now... there is NO reason to make it difficult to have several thousands of members in a corporation. Why not make it as easy as possible?

Originally by: Torm Ilmater I'd have to say the only reason I could think of not to seed the skill (other than some obscure technical problem) would be the fact that they're using the current corp size limit as a deterent for certain power blocks becoming too big. The development team seems to want to push things toward a smaller, more localized scale rather than the multi-regional power blocks of the past (and in some instances of the present). Large concentrations of wealth or power (in this instance pilot numbers) can create a vastly unequal playing field in which some may feel deterred from playing at all. This is probably even more so in a game with such large PVP tendencies in the multiple facets of gameplay like EVE.
I'd trust the devs in whatever decision they make on this matter as they've done a pretty darn good job so far with EVE. If anything it'd just be nice to have an explanation of why it isn't being seeded (if it's not going to be).
Yes, this is something along the lines i asked earlier.. maybe they dont want very big corporations in the game for this reason? But alliances are OK?
Seems the devs prefer not to take a stand at all in this issue at this time.

Originally by: Hillesumos Dear Remedial and other bees....
Well all this discussion about can do and only 10 minutes job attitude is fine and understandable. However, not many people worry about the consequences of allowing a lot more people in a corp. I dunno, will the chat channel handle it, will the lag not bee too attrocious if lots of bees log in the same corp HQ system? You see, having so many bees may involve some issues with the games behaviour that have not been tested on large volume of user or also game balance issue like bees zerging power being increased...
Don't get me wrong, i am sure be happy for u to have more people in your corp but it should be a carefully thought process not just let release the skill bit. There are issues of game stability and balance there too.
What I am curious about is an official eve post about the reason for such limitation.
If there is a technical limitation, i wish a dev would tell us so we can all shut up about this, knowing there is a good reason for the limitation.
The problem is, they dont comment on it. We'll see after the weekend i guess...
