Ive heard stories from many about pirating in HACs.. do they mean only belt pirating?
Can you tank the gates in a HAC for any decent amount of time?
I see it as being about the resists, in my Domi with high resists i basicly turn on my LAR and tank till my cap goes.
Any history/examples/pro's/con's from you nasty ebil pirates out there much appreciated!

a sac tanked the sentrys long enough for his buddy in a deimos to kill my ishkur

HAC's are pretty much perfect empire pirating ships. They're speedy, strong, and agile. They can tank sentry long enough to kill small to medium targets. I've done thus a number of times.
To me they're the ideal pirating ship being it can tank guards and keep belts on lockdown. The only problem with HAC's is the price. I fly my vaga every once and awhile but personaly I would stick to tech 1 cruisers. They get the job done just the same (Including tanking sentry) but not as quick/better.

You can easily tank sentries long enough to kill a hauler or something but aggroing ships that could scram you under the sentries is a sure way to die.

I have heard of anti-piracy in HACs...I killed a guy's thorax with my rax and he basically did belt piracy with a deimos...it is definitely possible if you don't mind losing all the money

depends what you can fly?
i broke the 50 mail limit in a day today using an eagle. is an excellent ship for sniping.
deimos/ishtar excellent for solo belt piracy
sacrilege can tank sentries quite well with good skills.
vagabond is like an interceptor on steroids, with a high damage output
as for the zealot and muninn, never had much experience with them.
and the cerb is just overpriced.

The Sacri is the only HAC I am aware of that makes it easy to pirate other hacs. Think tripple Nos, and tripple launchers.

I went 'exploring' last night with an Ishtar setup similar to my pirating Dominix...
