I'm watching this from afar. As the title says, the prices on +5 implants are going down insanely fast. Part of me regrets not holding out a few months.
I wonder what's causing it. Very odd.

the faction BS prices are also in freefall. fleet tempests have dropped 150 mil in the last week (and imho, should drop even more). This is, i think, mainly due to all richies selling theirs to get carriers/dreads.

It's the market stabilizing on its own. Since it *was* a limited demand-limited supply item, with a more limited supply than demand, prices were set high, by the sellers. Now that there's more of 'em dropping, the supply is going up, the price point is going down (supply-demand graph shifting: supply growth > demand growth), and people are asking why the price is going down.
More people have these implants that they don't want and are trying to sell them. Drop rates must've increased from almost zero.

Jump clones reduced demand, more players capitable of farming the implants increased supply.

Just a month or two ago, +5 Wilpowers were selling for a bil each. Now it is lucky to be half that. Even I am running a lottery for a +5 memory and very few people are buying tickets even for that!
I think the issue is that the rich have already bought their +5's and are leaving them in their jumpclone.

Plus a lot of people are more interested in the pirate implants now I'm sure.
Don't +5's only come from mission running though? If so then their prices would go back up when people stopped accepting them as agent offers I'd think.

People who sell +5 Implants in large quantities also sell:
1 Shaquil Speed enhancer
1 2-run tempest fleet issue BPC
(5-run firetail BPC)
at the same time, for dumping prices.
And can be found in a certain system you should be able to figure out by now. Hint: its low-sec.

Look at agent offers at that level and you'll see that's flawed logic, even at the currently dropped price +5s are still the best isk to lp ratio once you get up there. The only other competitors are the fleet/navy BSes, which have also dropped in price.
Pure and simple there's just more mission runners getting goods than there are people to buy them (True supply and demand, not the shoddy supply and demand that people cite for T2 goods.  )
Really you can be farming l4s in a raven in two to two and a half months, even faster with the monks now. How many people are in the market to fill their heads full of +5s after two months? That two to three month time would also be in line with the recent player influx.

But part of it defies logic - Jump Clones should increase demand for +5's
Before nobody who would touch pvp would use +5's. It was too risky. Now, with jump clones, every man and his dog would want a +5 for their training clone, hence introducing a new market.
But what has changed, however, is the fact that people are spending their isk on capital ships/skillbooks and spending more money on BPO's.
Or the guys with all +4's worked out it would take years to break even if they had +5's (taking cybernetics 5 into account)
The best lp-isk ratio currently is Skillbooks, followed by the 10klp offer for a +3
Or quite simply, oversupply. :)

Any backwater system with a +18 lvl4 agent with combat missions has huge numbers of people farming isk in it. Sometimes in teams.
Prices are dropping because there are simply too many people taking the high-end offers.

Not 100% sure but i think there a Cosmos mission reward now, easier to get than ****loads of LP.
