Erm, in missions, perhaps you should focus on fitting modules that help you kill the enemy so you can get away? -------------- What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?

Like a full T2 tank + arb launchers? I got something for you to impale yourself on to make you a little more helpful drake. *BURP* |

I read somewhere that gurista interceptors have a 25% chance to scramble you for +2 and 75% chance to scramble you for +1. If its a level 4 mission, just assume they will always scramble you for +2, that way you will be safer.

Must be true for Gisti as well then because I was running this mission for Sansha's Nation. The two opposing factions are Amarr Navy and Angel Cartel. *BURP* |

If you're planning on running away, just don't take the mission in the first place.
If you plan on actually killing stuff, don't gimp your setup by fitting stabilisers. Fit modules that help to kill stuff. ________________________________________________

Edited by: Nukeitall on 07/05/2006 22:22:57 I always fit WCS in groups of 2s, but never on missions.

There was a rumor that 1 WCS is enough to be immune to NPC scramblers, but according to eve-info, there are some Interceptors (among them Gistii) that have a scrambling strength of 2.
Makes a lot of sense to fit at least one WCS on a Raven by the way, especially if you know that there are many BS, many Ceptors, and possible aggro bugs ;)
Someone needs to test out wether 2 WCS will be enough to escape from those situations, or wether the scrambling is indeed chance-based, and you could end up being scrambled for 10 points if enough of the Interceptors orbit you.

2 WCS are enough to escape from anything. Only one ship will ever scramble at a time, and only to a max strength of 2. I've done this when scouting missions I haven't faced before. ----------------- [ The Coreli Corporation Mainframe ]

Read my sig.... WCS for mission running is, well, FUBAR ! Learn which rats warp scramble, usually there are a max of 4 at any given time on you, except if you'd aggroed the whole plex. Ib have never encountered an npc scrambler fitted in something larger than frig size, so these little nasties are very quick in close combat. These have to die first, even if it means that you have to warp out one time to regn your tank.
WCS gimps your fighting abilty. Make your choice BEFORE you undock. Do not complain about a lost ship ever, if you fit for running and go fighting with it |

Edited by: violator2k5 on 10/05/2006 09:34:57 as far as i know 2 x WCS doesnt work you might as well go all out and risk everything.
either tank yourself as much as possible or go for pure damage. there are faction hardeners / amplifiers that give a better % of defence then just the basic T1 and T2 mods that are currently on the market. The only issue with those is that you better be prepared to part with a lot of isk for them. In the long run i'd say they'll probably be worth it, i say that because im not speaking from experience only from what i've seen.
anyway dont lose heart cos you lost your ship just make sure you are insured and you can replace your ship when its distroyed.
on another note make sure you know whats inside the mission before you actually go in. if you are unsure ask those around you in the system or here on the forums for advice about the mission.
this link should help you out a bit with that

good luck in future missions

now what if you can't warp out to regain your tank because you're scrambled?
I know it's chicken to use WSC but some poeple cannot fir a full t2 gear to tank all the way through all lvl4's (end even then) for them I'd say better safe then sorry.
On another note it is so extremely rare for a 2 str scramble I'd suggest not to fit two. No risk = no fun ----------------------------------------------- I'm a reversed paranoid schizophrenic. I have voices in my head I just think I don't hear them |

Turn off the damage messages and you can clearly see a popup saying "x has started to warp scramble you". If you notice, you can get more than one message without killing anything, meaning you have more than one ship scrambling you. According to their stats, each ship that can scramble has a separate chance to do so.

Hence him saying, "these have to die first." If necessary, fit an all anti-frigate setup to make sure they die, and then go back and retool for the serious killing. ________________________________________________
