Wouldnt they make it EASIER to ninja loot then? No you get a suspect flag from shooting at an MTU. I use an Oracle and do it from 170-180km though... it's the perfect use for a sniper in a non-war scenario. Yes the wreck of an MTU rolls for loot just like a ship when popped. Your "friend" is trolling you on the suspect flag, or doesn't know and is full of s***. 15 mins flashy yellow.

MTUs are great to shoot when you find a missioner using one. Most of them HATE it when you link an MTU killmail in local. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=326497 --áPsychotic Monk for CSM! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. Hmmm, agreeing with Mr Epeen, what is the world coming to? That post right there explains why ninja salvaging died. It's not because of the MTU, the value of salvage went down and it just wasn't worth it any more unless you wanted tears or to try and bait them for a chance at popping their blinged out mission ship.
I was in SN (btw good to see you guys still about), and as a newbie it was awesome money, free salvage netted me over 200m a week. Not bad for a less than a month old character playing 5ish hours a week. Marauders were my favourite, salvaging their wrecks as they were tractored in. Ah, the memories :) |

It mainly comes down to the price of salvage, as far as that goes. There has been attempted nerf after attempted nerf to the ninja profession, but those of us who still do it are nothing if not adaptable. However, nobody actually ninja salvages anymore - its all about the loot. A newbie can still pull in 200 mil a week very reasonably as a ninja by just looting all the wrecks and learning to survive with a suspect flag. The MTU doesn't pose that much of a problem - just shoot it. The bear will either scoop it quick or it will die.
And when he gets a little older, he can study the true ninja's art - baiting the MRs into starting a limited engagement and then having his way with them. www.everevolutionaryfront.blogspot.com

WHY did salvage's prices tank?

Odyssey changes to exploration dramatically increased supply. While the same expansion slightly increased demand (replacing large rigs with capital rigs on capitals), this didn't come close to matching the amount of salvage vomited out by exploration sites now. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=326497 --áPsychotic Monk for CSM! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. You newbs thinking that pre-Odyssey salvage was a good price are just so cute. It may have gotten worse since then but it tanked a long time ago.
Mr Epeen There are 86,400 seconds in a day. You just saved one of them by typing 'u' instead of 'you'.-á Congratulations, dumbass! |

Most of the time (anymore) I just ship spin in station and mess with PI in a half-assed bored manner. Once in a while I will run a mission. I never bother to loot or salvage them because I ain't doing them for isk, I just want to kill a little time. When I DO run a mission I don't bother accepting any mission that requires a loot drop to complete (I'd rather shoot it than loot it). I just checked my wallet. I am seriously rich (sarcasm). I have a whopping 4.9 MILLION isk... I think I am playing EVE wrong lol.
By the by... did they nerf loot and salvage? I never noticed lol.
~Z I won't say you are stupid, but you're not exactly on the Zombie menu either. |
