I'm training to get a Heretic and hile messing with Quick Fit I realized you can't put t2 launchers on it. Is this just lack of skill or am I doomed to use named only? Yes I'm a t2 junky :P

Oh the quickfit problems... You need to give yourself the skills to use the items. There's no restriction on the ship itself ingame concerning t2 missile launchers...

I meant fitting wise. I was only able to put 3 t2 launchers on it before it ran out of pg :(
And I can't log in to the forums or download the XML file from home.

Interdiction sphere launcher, a cloak, and an MWD
Everything else is secondary.

I was planning on using it for low sec piracy and PVE. I know people will say cruisers are better but I can't stand how slow they are.

hell, for piracy and pve AFs, inties, and some frigates are better
don't try using a heretic for it, in my opinion, it's a good ship for pvp, but not in solo roles
Originally by: cytomatrix Try sitting inside a big frickin ball filled up with glue and tubes stuck up your nose and your arse. Then compare RL and Eve.

Heretic is excellent for low sec piracy. One of the best ships i've ever flown for actually making a profit, but others can be better for ganking. I make more money in one than in an af or inty. I usually fit...
3x dual light pulse 2's with conflag, 2x rocket 2's with explo and em, and rage versions, 3x knave nos. Named mwd, scram, caldari ecm 2 or tracking disrupter 2. Small rep 2, 2x named wcs.
This gets about 130 dps, goes 3km/s, aligns quickly, and is almost impossible to kill. It will easily beat any ceptor or af. It is a match for cruisers and can kill some bc. The only thing it has problems with is caracals and feroxes if you don't have the caldari ecm on. With the tracking disrupter i've been able to kill 1600 plate raxes with t2 drones. It's nice because even if you run into a nos anti frig setup you can just warp away. It's cost effective because you'll only loose it if they have a dual scram and web or alot of friends, and with your warp and mwd speed maybe not then even. You'll loose 3 or 4 ceptors or afs before one of these in belt piracy if you are careful, and that loadout costs only 25-30mil if you shop carefully.
Yes, it has stabs. Why stabs? Because they are uber, and on this ship better than the alternatives. The alternatives are hardeners and damage mods, or smaller guns and an aux core and plate. I chose stabs over dmg mods because you have a split weapon system anyway, and because they won't allow you to kill anything new. With this setup basically they can kill you, and if they can't you will kill them (i've killed bs with it, but took awhile). Those three small nos are almost the same amount of drain as a heavy nos, and 130 dps is enough to kill somthing that isn't running a tank. So a heatsink would speed up your kill speed alittle, but will very rarly make the difference in a fight. It's basically the same with hardeners. They buy you abit more time for your nos to drain the target, but not that much. Overall i think it's much more useful to never die. I've only lost one of these, and that was to lag.
Final thing is use rage rockets on this setup if you are nossing. With the nos running you have more than enough cap to run your rep constantly, and can definatly afford to lose alittle cap regen for the extra damage. Great for breaking tanks on cruisers and bc.

Standards deal less damage and have more range. If you use standards you need to use a warp disrupter, which means you need either a cap battery or a couple cap relays. Also unless you want several empty high slots you need to fit beam lasers, and so you'll need an aux core. And even with your highs full of guns, you'll be dealing crap damage. rockets ftw.
